  13. I think this generation is different. With infinite knowledge at their fingertips from the time you are walking as a toddler to TV and new thinking. Its thought of as old school to fish. I watched a youtube fishing video under my suggestions last month and it wasnt anyone with a lot of subscribers but more of a newbie. But one of his views wrote in the comments, "who even fishes anymore!" I know there arent huge major lakes near me nor a bunch of fishermen, but when, I come across one, they are never disrespectful but rather genuinely nice people. I think its up to us to keep this tradition. I know we dont want our waters over pressured but I feel that we should introduce something outdoors to one of our loved ones. Ive introduced my niece, my wife, my best friends and heck I always let my 17 month old play with her barbie combo when I yard fish 3 or 4 days a week. I know fishing isnt for everyone but its good fellowship time away from electronics (except your depth finders!) Price could be an issue but its def interest. I have a buddy that I try to fish with but he buys gear the day of and even buys the daily fish license 4 or 5 times a year. Too many shows on the dvr and making it a red box night. Trust me, I love the internet and some movies but fishing is a different category of life for me.

  17. I have caught bluegill years ago before I started bass fishing....maybe Fall 07. Yesterday was my first time fishing for bass. I think I couldve figured out where they were if I had the equipment and time. The first link is from this site talking about bass caught there. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/97565-elusive-fishing-spots-in-and-around-atlanta-ga-feel-free-to-share/page-2 This second link is from images on flickr about someone catching a couple bass in the colder weather. https://www.flickr.com/photos/37315991@N08/3429278228 If I had my carolina rig, Id figure out the bottom composition and depth a little better. But it doesnt look too deep. I can say that the docks that is mentioned looks like where are the trash and stand still water builds up. Prob not a lot of oxygen there in our 90+ weather. But I'll keep you guys updated. In the future. So far, unfortunately, Piedmont Parks isnt a place I plan trips for but rather kill time in traffic. But it would be great to be able to catch fish in a very different type of scenic environment.
  18. Thank you guys! Def feel like part of the family! Now hopefully I can won one of these giveaways!

  22. I have bank fished all my life. I purchased a jon boat last summer and love it. Where I live, its bank fish or electric only an hour or less in every direction. I finally fished a kayak several months ago while I was getting my jon boat decked and I enjoyed it. Im a huge fitness guru and I thought it was the best of both worlds. Fishing and a workout. I liked a lot of aspects of it but def prefer my jon boat mainly bc I like to stand, fish and use my troll motors. The kayak is really close to the water and Im not the most comfortable being that close to water but I'm good by the first cast. I get a little bit wet on my bottom than I like but its very relaxing and very different out pn thevyak. I don't think its for everyone but, I'll say its cost effective, it fits in where a boat wouldnt (on the water and on your property for storage), and I truly wish I had one for 4 ponds/rivers near me. Would be perfect. One is a hidden lake that no boat could get in and is just a small hike with a kayak. Ive never seen anyone ON this water...just bank fishing which is available on only 30% of the lake. Id give a slight advantage either way depending on what you like. If I could, id buy both
