BPT winnings
You might be right about Feider. He's a blue collar northern mid-wester who cut his teeth the hard way. However, I think it's kind of apparent that most of these guys that decide to go pro usually have enough capital sitting in the bank that they can afford to quit their jobs, and spend all of their money traveling all over the country just to fish. If you do the math, to buy a truck, and loaded out boat, a full rod locker and tackle boxes, you're looking at a man who has $150k in equipment right there. If you've got that kind of investment, you're probably not a guy who's scrummed by in life on a $12 an hour job.

BPT winnings
Hard to say what each guys sponsorship covers. As of now, they've fished 4 Elite events. You could have fished all four of those events and never even weighed in a fish and you would have landed yourself $10k so far for the year. Assuming that a majority of these guys have good enough sponsorships that their entry fee's are covered, do you think these guys have spent $10k on fuel and lodging for those 4 tournaments? I consider food a wash because you're buying food whether you're on the road or at home.

BPT winnings
They went from having to catch the 5 biggest fish they could in 8 hours, to having to catch as many fish as possible in a very short time window. It's a totally different ball game. KVD has made $6k so far this season. 8 guys have made $0... https://majorleaguefishing.com/standing/2019-bass-pro-tour/ For reference, BASS is paying out $2500 to every competitor at every tournament, and $7500 minimum if you make the top 35 out of the 75 boat field.

You're absolutely right. 8:30AM local right now down there and there's already 5 fish over 6 pounds that have been weighed. This is going to be an absolute slugfest.

We are under way on Lake Fork! 8:25AM local in Texas right now and Chris Zaldain already has a 7-4 lunker. This tournament is different from other typical Elite events. Each angler has a marshal with him who weighs each fish as they catch it and then it's released. The only exception being if an angler catches a fish over 24", in which case, the anglers will bring that fish to the stage for the official weigh in at the end of the day. All that being said, my team is: Livesay Benton Combs Prince Sullivan

Finesse jigs and line
What weight jig are you talking here? Finesse jigs can mean two things - 1. A lightweight jig 2. A jig that half of the skirt is trimmed on the head side of the jig That being said, the finesse jig I throw is normally a 5/16oz Siebert Outdoors Sniper jig and I normally use 15lb fluoro for those. I don't like going down to 12lb line because the shock of a hard hookset on a short leash can lead to break offs.

Big bass on the line?
While I personally dislike river fishing, I will agree to this statement.

Big bass on the line?
Generally, when fishing with jigs/plastics (bottom contact), if I set the hook and I don't feel that I pulled the fish up and my rod stays bent in half rather than releasing up some after that initial hookset, I know it's a good one.

Neko Hook
To clarify, I'm using mine on baitcasting gear with 12-14# fluoro. If I went much smaller than a #1, I'd fear bending the hook out on my setup.

Show off your Stuff
If you look very closely at my photo's, you'll see how much I've actually used this beauty so far As I do with most of my new reels I get when something gets released, I'll post up a full review once I get some on the water use with it. Stay tuned in the upcoming weeks to the Rods/Reels/Line section.

I'll second what @evilcatfish said. Megabass isn't a name yet that everyone knows in the US, but I think they're quickly becoming known in the bass scene as a premier brand on par or above GLoomis these days.

Reel Upgrades
Honestly, it totally depends on the reel model and what you're trying to achieve by adding the bearings. More often than not, the difference in a 6 bearing reel and a 10 bearing reel is the fact that a company added 4 bearings (2 per) into the handle knobs. It honestly adds no performance upgrade but on paper, it makes it look better on paper.

Erie, PA
I'm still not sure why they're called the W's, but if you launch out of PIB, once you get out of the chute, run about ~10 miles (I'm honestly not sure how far it is), and stay about a mile from shore. If the fish are biting, you'll know you're there because there will be a bunch of boats there. As for the cribs, I believe they're a little further out from the chute at PI. I've personally never been there, but guys have taken my money by running there.

Personal Best
If it's the fish in your profile picture, he should have no issues estimating size.

It looks even better in person in natural lighting. The red is a deep, rich red. And then the accent colors are a glossy, dark titanium color with small red metal flakes in it. There's also a little scorpion etched in to the tension control knob.

From the recommendation of this thread, I've now ordered twice from KTP. Both orders shipped quickly and arrived to me in perfect packaging. I'll be shopping with KTP more in the future.

Replacing crank bait treble hooks with single hooks
There have been numerous threads asking this question before. If you search the website, you'll probably find a few of those threads. As stated before in those threads, I will never give up my treble hooks.

Neko Hook
I'm using a #1 and 1/0 myself. The VMC weedless Neko hooks literally do nothing over the regular one's.

Dedicated Jig Rod
I can't comment for the Kistler, but I own a 7'2" H Expride and I absolutely love that rod. I highly recommend them.

Most expensive lure
I've got some old Wiggle Warts that fetch $50-80 each. I've never paid that much for an individual Wart, but they easily bring that much. I've got a few Gan Craft Jointed Claw 178's that go for around $70-80 each.
