  1. I much prefer J "The IT Department" Francho. ??
  2. On Saturday, a buddy of mine convinced me to go bank fishing with him on a public reservoir. Normally this time of year I'm more in favor of fishing from the boat, but I knew my buddy had caught a few good one's from the bank at this body of water recently, so I agreed to tag along. The day started out slow. It was pretty warm and windy, and bright sunny skies. The kind of day that you'd expect those cold water fish to push up to the banks because of the warmer water. I started the day dragging a Siebert Outdoors Sniper jig around just trying to get a feel for the bottom and see if anything would bite. After an hour or so of no luck, I switched to my spinning rod, which was rigged up with a Megabass 3" Hazedong Shad on a 1/8oz Okashira screwhead jig. I started swimming that little swimbait around the edges of the bank and I finally got a bite. My drag started singing and I thought it was too lose, so I tightened it down. About the time I got done doing that, the fish showed himself and I knew I was hooked into a good one. I eventually landed what would be the biggest fish of the day, a 4lb female that was full of eggs. We kept fishing along that bank and I caught 2 more on that little swimbait but they were only around 12" in size. My buddy also caught one smaller fish as well. Things started getting slow and the day was wearing on. I was ready to head home, but my buddy suggested we drive around the reservoir and fish the opposite side. We got over there and found an opening between the trees where we could set up shop. My buddy was throwing a swimbait on one side, and I was dragging that same Sniper jig from Sieberts around on the other side. I quickly found some deep water that was very rocky. After about my third cast of dragging my jig over those rocks, my line went totally slack and I knew I had a bite. I was rewarded with a 3.5 pound fish. I then caught 3 more fish in that same spot over my next 5 casts. I quickly told my buddy to put on a jig and start fishing this spot. In total, we caught 10 fish combined in this one little spot, and lost 2-3 more. All of which were in the 2-3.5 pound range. All in all, I feel confident in saying that this was my most successful day on the bank that I've ever had. I'm not normally one to drag a jig around, but I wore all the paint off the head of that little 5/16oz Sniper jig.
  3. I really like the size and sound that I get out of a 1/4oz Cavitron buzzbait, but some days I want a little extra weight to help with distance or wind, so I will take 1-2" of an old Senko and thread it onto the hook to give it a little extra weight. It seems to work well.
  4. I bought a few and fished them late last summer. Quite possibly the easiest and best walking frog I've found. As for hook ups, my ratio does seem significantly better than other frogs. Because of all of that, I bought myself quite a few more over the winter. I can't wait until it's time to throw them again.
  5. I was thinking the same thing. While it may be a great feature for some who don't want to go through the hassle of creating an account, this feature is a trolls dream.
  6. I'm going to start calling you "The IT Department". Thanks for keeping the lights running.
  7. Thanks. Imgur was giving me fits, and it's a blocked site here at work, so I wasn't sure what was actually being posted.
  8. My biggest from this weekend. Caught on a 3" Megabass Hazedong Shad with an 1/8oz jighead.
  9. Buy one of each and see what works for you. Honestly, I keep both sizes in my box and just grab whatever I find first.
  10. While out fishing with my buddy this weekend, I got onto a jig bite and he quickly switched to a jig. On the first bite he got, he broke off on the hook set. I asked him what line he was using and he replied "brand new 20 pound Fluoroclear". I was then a believer of all the guys who claim Fluoroclear issues. I was using 15lb P Line Tactical that day and I had zero issues over the 9 fish I caught on a hard hook setting jig bite.
  11. Welcome! I've fished Yellow Creek in the past.
  12. Bass first, then bluegill a few weeks after. And from what I've heard from multiple sources, bluegill can/will spawn every full moon throughout the summer.
  13. If you click the green "Follow" box at the top of this thread, you will get a notification every time there is a new post in this thread. It's a good reminder to see this thread active that there's a tournament coming up. There's 78 people playing along, but only 8 people subscribed to this thread. I highly suggest that everyone follows this thread so you don't miss out.
  14. Wow!! Three in the top 10 and all 5 in the top 25 is super impressive.
  15. My team finished in 2, 4, 13, 37, and 53rd, yet I somehow managed to be 216th overall on BASS and in the 99th percentile. What an event considering I felt blind making my picks given the nature of tidal tournaments. I was in the 49th percentile two weeks ago. Now after these last two tournaments I'm in the 85th percentile. Things are starting to look up after a rough start to the year.
  16. I use these all the time when scouting before a tournament. They can be very helpful.
  17. *Raises hand*
  18. From my experience here in PA, fish the shallower areas during the warmest, sunniest times of the day this time of year. That water starts warming up and the fish get active and push up there. But again, this is fishing and your results may vary.
  19. This. Gary (the owner of the TT) is VERY knowledgeable on the Megabass rods. Call him or pm him on *** or TT. He will gladly point you in the direction of exactly what you want.
  20. Top 35 for day 3, top 10 for day 4. I was pretty shocked when I checked my results from yesterday. My guys finished in: 1, 9, 25, 29, 54. This landed me in the 97th percentile somehow, so lots of guys must be having a rough event.
  21. So does the Rapala DT, and it's balsa. It's not as common, but you can put a knocker/rattle in a balsa bait.
  22. I hate tidal fisheries. They're always a crap shoot.
  23. That's an odd one. I don't know what it is, but it does not look like a Wiggle O to me. It looks balsa, not plastic. Can you tell what material its made of?
