  1. You should be our test subject. The bait monkey will be proud of you.
  2. Glad to see you're still around. A balmy 10* here this morning. 5* yesterday morning.
  3. Trailer - Siebert Sniper finesse jig Swimbait - 1/4oz. VMC Mooneye jig
  4. So tempting... But my wife would kill me. I've got my eye on the new Scorpion MGL 151.
  5. @clayton86 Glad to see you're doing better man. Does this mean you should be jacking some jaws here once the snow melts?
  6. I have to agree. You should be happy with anything in the $25-50 range.
  7. I'm not sure where you're looking, but TW seems to be about the only place that doesn't have them in stock. FishUSA another site SFTtackle Monster Fishing All four of those shops are showing that they have multiple models in stock right now.
  8. Looks like they're a discontinued jig chunk trailer. Probably your typical 2.75 or 3" size, just from looking at them.
  9. I can't speak to how long they're going to still be in business, but I can say this. Their reels seem to ALWAYS be on some sort of sale, and they will sponsor anyone who submits a resume to them.
  10. I have two rain suits. The Frabill F3 series, and the Huk All-Weather series. Huk completely revamped their lineup for 2019, so I don't know that you can get the Huk suit that I have any more. But I'll put it this way. If you want a good set that will last you for many years, be prepared to shell out $2-300. If you want a high end set, be ready to drop $4-600.
  11. This. It's cheaper to layer and remove layers as the day gets warmer. Otherwise, you've buying cold/snow gear that's only good whenever it's super cold out. And then you still need a rain suit for the summer months. The good thing about most standard rain suits is they cut the wind really well (more so than a cotton hoddie or the likes). I wear my rain suit a good bit in the spring and late fall for this reason alone.
  12. Worden's Rooster Tail. Works on all species.
  13. I don't get to do much frogging here in PA, but I usually wear out 1 or 2 a summer. Usually they get turned inside out enough times that they either tear or they get rethreaded by a hook point.
  14. I feel the same way chucking some of my old craw Warts that are bringing $40-80 a piece. If I hang one up on the first day using it, I want to cry. But if I can catch a few dozen nice fish on one, great!
  15. You should get into collecting Pre-Rap Warts. Fun times.
  16. You need to get them on fish, not trying to break your PB. They're going to get quickly bored if they're not catching fish regularly. Get them minnows and worms, and put them on some bluegills and crappies.
  17. I'm sure either would do the job just fine. I like using my AV70MF for 5" senkos, and I think it would still handle a 6" senko just fine.
  18. This. To my knowledge, ALL Shimano spinning reels are this way now. Fear not, you can buy a different paddle for about $5-10 and be on your way. I'm the same as you. I like the 3000 size spool but I'm not a fan of the T knobs.
  19. I own 3 of the SC blanks that you refer to. As for the Aetos, Fenwick's quality just doesn't compare to SC in my opinion.
  20. It's just like going into the local gun shop. It never hurts to ask if they can do a better price. Tell them you're willing to pay X price and that you're willing to buy right then and there. Most Mom and Pop shops have a hard time turning down cash in their pockets, especially if an item has been sitting on a shelf stagnant for years. As far as Tackle Trap, I know for a fact that Gary doesn't keep St. Croix in stock in his shop. He has it all drop shipped from the SC factory, so if that is a discontinued model and SC is OOP, then you might be SOL. However, if it's still in production, then I know Gary will take good care of you.
  21. It really irks me whenever people boast about being able to cast a weightless senko on baitcasting gear. Go throw a 5" Senko on a quality scale and you'll see that they weigh around 3/8oz.
  22. All depends on what the fish want. Time of year, location, water clarity, etc. I get a lot of mine custom painted by a buddy because I'm not a fan of most of the factory colors and honestly, the factory paint doesn't hold up too well. Some waters I use bright chartruese, others I use bluegill colors, and other times I'll use a sexy shad pattern. In the spring of the year, a brown craw with an orange belly can be a killer.
  23. Haha! I've yet to catch a turtle, but I know it will happen eventually. I bet removing the hooks was fun.
  24. I would buy the Smoke (it's one heck of a reel), and then save up for the SLX or Fuego.
  25. Fair enough. What do I know
