  1. The time has come for the 2019 Fantasy Fishing season to begin. For those unfamiliar, we have been doing this for a few years now as a fun way to compete and have a little fun among all our members. Do you think you have what it takes to take home 1st place for the season? Group Name: BassResource Password: BR2019 We encourage all members to play along. Just pick your anglers prior to each BASS Elite event and share them (or don't) with the group. It's all part of the fun!
  2. Group created. "BassResource". I will be create an official thread for us now. Link below.
  3. I know most of you guys are builders. Any word if this will effect production rods as well? If so, I maybe need to stock up on more of my favorite Avids.
  4. I'm not sure how you saw that because 2019 still isn't live ?
  5. I replace mine with a Gamakatsu Short Shank Round Bend Magic Eye #6.
  6. I have the Sierra 735C that I use for frogging. I'm not sure how it compares to the Fury line, but it can get taxing after a long day of frogging. It's kind of the nature of the beast with how fishing a frog works. All that aside, the Champion line is going to be your lightest option in the line up (with the split grip).
  7. At this point in my bass fishing career, is a spinning rig necessary? Outside of dropshotting for smallies on Erie, I rarely find myself picking up a spinning setup.
  8. Quality of hardware can change. Obviously, hooks these days are significantly better than the hooks we had 25+ years ago.
  9. Not until April... That is how they got me hooked on this line. They did a BOGO deal whenever they released this line.
  10. You would be surprised. We have a semi-local lake that only has muskie and smallmouth in it (in terms of predator/game fish) and my buddy who muskie fishes catches 18-22" smallmouth all the time on his 8-12" muskie baits.
  11. I always have a pack or two of Fat Alberts on me.
  12. Rat-L-Traps. I feel like I've almost abandoned this bait since I really got into using swimbaits.
  13. Looks like BASS is dragging their feet. They had posted on the website that Fantasy Fishing would be available January 16th. I went on today to create the group and it now says the 21st. Stay tuned everyone!
  14. Mmm, those hammered colorado blades. I could use a few of those for the rivers downtown.
  15. No can do @roadwarrior. I distinctively remember the thread, but something is wonky right now.
  16. @roadwarrior I don't have permission to view that page?
  17. What a setup! Is that Bantam rod basically a JDM Expride? The entire handle part of the rod looks the same as the Exprides, just in a different color.
  18. The tail looks different between those two fish, especially for being only 6 days apart.
  19. Netbait Spanky's. Great size, price, and colors for using as a trailer.
  20. I don't know that anyone here has place in BASS. I know one of the guys here has won some prizes in the FLW FF before. It's open to anyone here! We'd love to have you! The more the merrier. Last year I believe we had 83 members battling it out for the grand prize. Each year, @Glenn pays out Circuit City gift cards to the top player. Already got it saved in my phone. I'll create the group again and make an "Official" thread on here.
  21. That photoshop job on their website hurts my eyes... How do you release a brand new $150 product and have only one photo and it looks like that?
  22. From a kayak? Go on a calm day and bed fish. Wind, waves, and wakes are very dangerous on Erie.
  23. Looks like BASS is listening to the elites who stuck around. What are your thoughts on this? https://m.bassmaster.com/news/bass-announces-angler-motivated-rules-changes
  24. The BPS one's are so so. I like using them when I go pond hopping and don't want to use my expensive Keitechs on fish that would likely bite whatever I threw. I have had times where the Rhythm Wave outfished my buddy who was throwing Keitechs. As with everything in fishing, you're better off having different options and seeing which one the fish prefer that day.
  25. That's so good to hear! Hopefully everyone is responsible with the lake and what they keep and the fish in your lake keep growing and growing. We have a lake around here that I have a feeling will be rebounding. It's a really clear 300+ acre lake on top of a mountain that has a ton of heavy weed growth in it, but the lake is full of 5-7 pounders if you know how to fish it. A majority of the lake is only 3-6' deep and other than the main creek channel and right by the dam, it's fairly shallow. However, this fall the fish & boat commission found a leak in the dam and had to draw the lake down drastically in order to fix the leak. From what I've heard, the dam has already been repaired and is filling back up. I just hope that the fish didn't get washed down the outflow whenever they drew the lake down to basically a creek.
