Inner city fishing with Ike
I see what he did there...

Suffix 832 Coastal Camo
I like the color of it for topwater. Blue should blend into the sky better than the dark green (in theory).

Look what Scott Martin found while fishing
I saw this the other day. Pretty amazing stuff from those electronics. Those images where he could see that the windows were down and he could see the seat were amazing.

Big fish are knocking my topwater spook straight out of the water, is the spook too light?
I see this issue fairly often with the larger bass up in Canada. It just comes with the territory of topwater lures. I was going to suggest a LC Sammy because they are tail weighted and the bottom half of the bait is down in the water when at rest, more so than the Heddon Spook.

How to keep paddletail swimbaits?
I keep them in the manufacturing clamshell packaging. It's just something that comes with the territory.

Orochi XX Casting Rod 7'5" Extreme Mission Type F?
For poppers and buzzbaits, I'd choose are 6'6" to 7' rod in a M or MH power, depending on the weight of the lures you throw and the cover you fish around. For baits like those, there's really no need to spend money on a top dollar rod because sensitivity isn't overly important.

Anyone still fishing the 1-minus?
Absolutely. And just like 1201 said, replacing those factory hooks is a must. The one's they use now-a-days foul up almost every cast.

Orochi XX Casting Rod 7'5" Extreme Mission Type F?
The EMTF is definitely a bottom contact bait rod. However, I'm going to have to disagree with Junger on the rod being able to handle baits up to 1.5oz. I don't use over 5/8-3/4oz in total weight on my EMTF. It's great for using 1/4-3/8oz jigs with a trailer on them, but I would certainly never even think about using something an ounce or more on this rod.

Looking great Mike! Keep up the great work.

Crankbait Back Splitting
Heat and sunlight cause this. The old pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts are notorious for having this and bloat. I keep those babies guarded like they're my own child whenever I'm out on a hot, sunny day.

Fishing spots near Brockport (Rochester) area?
Hey Ben, I'll be up in Brockport in two weeks chasing salmon. You have a ton of creeks around you just off of Lake Ontario that are full of salmon right now. I'd suggest talking to @clayton86. He lives local to you and may be able to help.

Keitech alternatives
Since the Keitech craze has caught on, there are a ton of great Keitech imitators. Some of them being: Eco Pro Swing Shad Jackall Rythym Wave SK Rage Swimmer BPS Speed Shad Biospawn Exoswim Netbait Spanky Reaction Innovation Dipper Series Lake Fork Magic Shad Series However, if you desire a more durable plastic, you're going to lose some action, particularly at slower retrieves and in colder water temperatures. Take any of the above baits and a Keitech and drag them beside the boat at slow and fast speeds. You'll quickly see the difference in actions when the baits are moving at a slower speed.

Ready for that jerkbait bite!
Too many deep diving jerkbaits... You need 10 more shallow diving jerkbaits to balance out your tackle box. - Bait Monkey

Rain and it’s effects on reels?
I've been on numerous week long trips where it rained nearly every day and I fished through it all. I've found that my Shimano's needed a little drop of oil on the brake drum more often than usual, but I have never noticed any other side effects from the rain.

Rapala DT-4
The DT does well around rocks for me. As with any Crank with treble hooks, you're going to have more trouble around wood, but the juice is worth the squeeze as they say.

Nrx/glx 853c
I"ve got a GLX 853C and I love it. Perfect for 3/16-5/16oz t-rigs, or for smaller jigs around 1/4oz plus the trailer.

Which Reel on TW Black Friday Sale?
I'm curious about why the Shimano Curado is not even being considered here. Have you done any research on baitcasting reels in the $150-200 range?

Rod recommendation needed
The EMTF is definitely not the power you want for this. It's sweet spot is the 5/16-1/2oz range. I would recommend the Shimano Expride 7'2" Heavy power. Or I believe they make a similar rod in a 7'6" as well.

Losing Lures on Braided Baitcaster
Spiderwire is the only braid I've ever had that snaps during the cast. For whatever reason, that's it's major flaw. I highly recommend ditching the Spirewire and getting something else like Suffix 832 or PowerPro.

Fantasy Fishing 2018
Here's who I took and how they sit after day 1: A. Martens - 9th C. Ashley - 47th B. Ehler - 7th M. Frazier - 12th D. Connell - 25th I have a feeling this one's going to be a shootout. With the low weights, 2-3 pounds can jump you up significantly on the leaderboard.
