  1. Yeah, I planned on stocking up before the months end.
  2. I wish I had local waters that I could go out and catch 32 bass of that size in an outing. You did the right thing. A few guys like that and you won't have a fishery like that too much longer.
  3. That it does. I got everything in last night and flipped through everything I got. I've already got $100 more in my cart of things that I want to try on top of this stuff.
  4. I've never been one to half ass anything. I can't wait for everything to arrive and try some things out. I'm sure I'll be seeking you guys out for more help soon.
  5. Well, I sunk $250 into spinnerbait parts yesterday at LurePartsOnline and $50 into skirt material/tools at Janns. Let the rabbit hole begin.
  6. Smallmouth bass are easier to catch than largemouth...
  7. I'd rather worry about having to remove three sets of trebles than worry about keeping a fish pinned on my jerkbait.
  8. I have a good pair of Shimano split ring pliers that have worked well for me putting #1 and #2 split rings on my crankbaits, so they should work well for spinnerbaits as well. Thanks for the info on the clevises. That was one thing that I unsure about. It seems like most of the heads have a .032 or .035 wire on them these days, so I'll likely need to have both #2 and #3 clevises on hand.
  9. @Munkin those pliers look pretty nifty. I'll definitely buy a pair of them.
  10. I'm not pouring anything (yet). Just buying some prefab'd jig's with the wire already attached. So I'll be adding all the hardware to make them pretty. Yeah, I was surprised at the cost of the swivels. They're around $8 for a ten pack it seems for good ones.
  11. Since I'm a tinker-er, I've decided I'm going to start building my own spinnerbaits. I've got everything picked out from LurePartsOnline that I want, but I wanted to ask you guys if there were any tools, parts, etc. that you would highly recommend that a beginner must have to start out. Thanks.
  12. I'd try the new 2019 Levante to see how they are. But if I wanted to stick with my tried and true, I'd get another Zodias or Avid.
  13. Another decent event for me. Lester really fell off the quality fish the last two days and that hurt me. He was fishing like he was going to win it the first two days. Onto the St. Lawrence. Pick your best brown fish guys for this one, but don't rush. We've got 50 days.
  14. According to Basstrak, Lester has thrown back 13 fish today for a total weight of 15-10. Looks like he's stuck on all little fish.
  15. I have a feeling that Shimano is revamping most of their spinning line. I know for certain a new Stradic is dropping. A revamped smaller size Curado wouldn't surprise me either.
  16. After day 3, here's where my guys stand: Canterbury - 22 Lester - 5 Mullins - 37 Hamilton - 39 Kennedy - 52 Lester only had 14 pounds yesterday. He's currently ~5 pounds out of first. If he could have put together 20 pounds yesterday he'd be right there at the top for me.
  17. Matt Arey with 20 pounds before 10AM. This one is going to be a slugfest boys. Canterbury Lester Mullins Hamilton Kennedy
  18. The FL has been leaked online for over a month now.
  19. Are we talking large swimbaits in the 1-6oz range? Or smaller keitechs under an ounce?
  20. I've driven over it but have never fished it. That being said, the BASS Elites have fished there twice in recent years. If you search around online, you should be able to see what those guys were throwing. I know KVD won using a Spybait and others have done well using a drop shot.
  21. I've thrown a few Evergreen crankbaits and they've all been VERY high quality baits. I do a lot of cranking in that 8-10' range. I may have to pick a few of these up. Thanks for feeding my bait monkey.
  22. Tatsu, hands down, regardless of money. Sunline Sniper and Pline Tactical for performance/cost ratio.
  23. Big chains like a BPS likely only place an order with a manufacturer or distributor once every so often. If they sell out before that time to order again comes, then you will see empty shelves. Sucks as a consumer, but that's the way most big chains do things.
