Best Bass lakes in western Pa
It takes 18-22 pounds to win any bass tournament on Raystown... Maybe it's a little tough to fish from a kayak because of it's size and the pleasure boats, but it's a solid bass fishery.

Post a photo a day!
One of the bucks I passed on this season. He was nice on the one side, but his main beam was broken off on the other right beside his brow tine. Sorry for the poor quality, but this was taken with my phone, through my scope, at a deer about 200 yards away.

NRX advice and Megabass vs NRX
I own the IMX 803C, so it's not quite the same as far as sensitivity, but it's close in every other aspect. I use mine mostly for weightless Senko's, Neko rigs, and light texas rigs (1/8-1/4). I would never go up to a 1/2oz. jig or t-rig with it. It would be overpowered, for sure. As far as skipping, I skip Senko's under docks just fine with it and the shorter length is nice for that. It doesn't have a lot of power, so if I was skipping a 3/8 or 1/2oz jig under docks, I'd want a 4 power.

GLX 853C JWR- Braid backing
Aaron Martens uses braid backing on some of his reels because braid is lighter than mono.- New Personal Best Whitetail
The neck was 24". My taxidermist said it's the biggest neck he's seen from this area. He said he's seen some 26" necks on deer from Canada, but never anything 24" around our area. It was the biggest bodied deer my father and I have ever seen. I don't know what the deer weighed, but we (father and I) were unable to lift this buck by ourselves up onto the back of our Kubota buggy.- pitching worms
Picked up a 9" curly tail worm and started pitching it up under some overhanging tree's this summer. Be advised. Results may vary.- New Personal Best Whitetail
I finally got my opportunity at a big whitetail buck and I made the most of it. He green scored at 147-3/8" and according to the PA record, book, would put me at 15th in my county (of all time) for a typical buck during rifle season. The rack is almost perfectly symmetrical with only 1.5" of deductions.- Post a photo a day!
If only the deer were as tame as the squirrels are...- Site Issues - slow reloads, failed refreshes
Website has been slow for me on my desktop with Chrome for the past week or so. Some pages fail to load whenever I click them and then load properly once I hit refresh. Give Glenn time. He runs a great operation here.- Fishmas 2017
Glad I'm not the only one still using jelly worms!- Shimano/G. Loomis Conquest review....
- The latest sale thread
I ordered 6 packs of Senkos, 2 packs of Rage Bugs, and 4 packs of Rage Craws yesterday. I paid $3.48 for the Senkos, $3.78 for the Bugs, and $3.45 for the Craws. Now today, the Senkos are $6.34, Rage Bugs are $8.49, and the Rage Craws are $3.22. Just goes to prove that WalMart's pricing is all over the place.- Fishing Plastics
- Good rod match with curado k?
If you can swing the extra dough, you'll notice a difference to step up to the Zodias over the Curado rods.- The latest sale thread
I believe they closed out some discontinued Champion's last year.- Urban fish
I'm the total opposite. I hate river fishing, especially our 3 rivers. I only fish them whenever our club has a tournament on them. I was surprised this year whenever we had our tournament on there. I had 3.71 on three fish, which is usually really good for down there (and I lost/missed about a dozen more bites that would have upgraded me). Winning weight had 10 pounds and another guy had 8 pounds.- Is bass gear overkill?
This fish was around 15 pounds. Caught it on a Loomis 854 with 16lb. fluoro on an SV103 and I had no control over this fish the first 5 minutes. Did it manage it? Yeah, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to use a trout setup to try to land a 6+ lb largemouth.- Re-spooling: getting the most for your $
I buy my fluoro and braid in bulk spools. It cuts my cost per yard down enough that I don't have to worry about it so much. Example: Sunline Sniper FC 16lb. TW price - $23.99 for 200 yards - 0.11995 per yard TW price - $66.99 for 660 yards - 0.1015 per yard Factor in buying during a 20% off sale TW price - $53.59 for 660 yards - 0.0811 per yard If I figure that I need 70 yards of fluro on my reel: 200 yard spool normal price - $8.39 per spooling - 2 spools and 60 yards to try to make due with 660 yard spool normal price - $7.10 per spooling - 9 spools and 30 yards for leader use 660 yard spool sale price - $5.67 per spooling - 9 spools and 30 yards for leader use- Line lubricant
One is literally flammable, and the other is endorsed by one of the greatest of all time and works like a charm. And to touch on what @WRB said, that makes complete sense now why whenever I broke down my father's Curado's they were completely gum on the inside. - Show off your Stuff
