Why the NFL destroyed the Pats tapes...
I posted the rules in another thread awhile ago. Prior to this season it was within the rules, stretching it, but within the rules to have a video camera on the sidelines in an enclosure taping the game. Now supposedly this tape wasnt available during the game. At the beginning of this year there were rules put into effect that prohibited any and all video tapping. Now what the Patriots supposedly did was after the game look at the tape and decipher what play they called in certain situations, against the Patriots so that in future games they had an idea of what that teams tendencies were, if that type of situation arose again. What people were accusing them of was stealing the defensive signals and trying to run a play that would exploit that defensive play. What many people dont know was that tape in the Jets game was confiscated 8 minutes into the first quarter, so saying they won that game by cheating is a joke, they had no time to review said tape. Also I may be mistaken but there are also dummy play callers on the sidelines calling in fake plays to throw off the other teams. I mean when offensive coordinators call in their plays every one of them in the league covers their mouth so nobody could possibly read their lips. Now the other thing is that from game to game and season to season you have to expect a team will be changing their signals, which would nullify any and all advantage, the Patriots actually had. They gained an advantage by breaking the rules so technically it is cheating. However that advantage isnt a gimme that the play or game would go the Patriots way. You still need to block, protect the QB, throw the ball, run the right pattern, catch the ball. So in my eyes if there was an advantage it was very minimal. How minimal? John Elway was on an interview this AM. I quote him by saying "I dont really see the big deal of what they were doing, it wasnt a big advantage." Well thats it in a nutshell, they broke the rules got penalized the biggest penalty in NFL history, period end of story. The news about Arlen Spector from PA wanting to bring the head NFL officials into the Senate and question them is asinine. They broke no federal or state laws and were fined accordingly by the NFL for a NFL matter. Im glad that the senator from PA wants to spend tax payer money on such a troublesome issue, especially 4 months after it happened and was taken care of, in house, by the NFL. How ironic is it that its just 3 days before the Super Bowl too, anyone find that peculiar? Im also happy to know that everything in this country is right as rain. That the economy is prosperous, healthcare is affordable for everyone, all the highways and bridges are safe, our educational system couldnt be better, illegal immigration is resolved, and that any terrorists wanting to do any American harm has been taken care of. Im so happy that all the major problems have been solved enough so that the senator from PA finds it necessary to call in the head of the NFL to be questions about the destroyed tapes that were at the center of spygate. Can I get a big shoutout for Term Limits!?!

Happy New Year Muddy...
Sorry but I dont see why youd let any pitcher continue past the 7th or so unless there is a no no going. I mean thats what the Red Sox tried to do with their staff and look at how dominate Beckett was... Anyway glad he is in the NL. I wa afraid he might end up as a NYY, or even worse we unload all of our young talent to get him. Elsbury, Buckholtz, Lester, and other outstanding minor league talent...

Jig reccomendation
I personally like the Lunker lure jigs. Nice head design, heavy duty gammy hook, turned line tie. Great Jigs, I have been thinking of pouring my own though.

My Favorite Super Bowl or The "Best Ever"
Agreed it is a bad rule, just like being allowed to call a timeout after the kicker seems to have kicked a FG.

My Favorite Super Bowl or The "Best Ever"
That was the year that the Patriots played Oakland in an AFC divisional playoff game with lots of snow. Brady went to tuck the ball and the ball was knocked loose resulting in a fumble which Oakland recovered with under two minutes left to play. The officials ruled that he was attempting a forward pass and it was incomplete, even though the replays showed it was obvious he was tucking the ball. The Pats score on that drive tied the game and sent it into overtime. Without the blown call they wouldn't have been in that Super Bowl. Here is the fact, its a rule not a blown call. If they dont like the rule then they need to change it, its what is on the books.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
I hear reports that my home lake has 10-14inches of ice on it. I dont know of anywhere that doesnt have ice except on the outflow of the powerplant in Bow. Your better off bringing ice skates, skis, and snowboard will get more use out of those.

My Favorite Super Bowl or The "Best Ever"
Hello!?! Are kidding me the 2001 Patriots vs the Rams (Greatest Show on Turf), nobody gave them a chance. I mean even John Madden was telling them to take a knee and wait for OT. Brady charged down the field and let #4 kick the GW FG. CLASSIC GAME!!!

RIP Heath Ledger...
True, it was reported on the local news as drug related, and implied it was suicide. I shouldn't have assumed they checked the facts... If it turns out that he was not responsible for it, I'll delete my post above. One can only hope that he had a will and had a provision for his daughter... if not- The state laws vary on intestacy.... the daughter is very likely (the or) a primary heir, and the courts would appoint a guardian to the minor for the financial oversight. Well concerning his daughter I am sure it will be a great loss for her, not really knowing her father. On the financial matters she is the daughter of Michelle Williams ( the cute blonde from Dawson's Creek), so she is pretty much set. As far as it being suicide, nobody knows. No illegal drugs were found in his bedroom. The only pills that were found in his bedroom were prescribed by a DR, 3 in fact; a prescription for an anti-anxiety medication, a prescription for a sleeping aide, and a prescription for an anti-histamine.

All the Reaction Innovation stuff has a funny name: Swamp Donkey, Barely Legal Vixen, School Girl.... How can you not get a kick out of that? x2 That is perfect marketing cause they know their market. I dont know how many times I have died laughing after my friend askes me what you catch that one on. I respond, "I got that one a Sweet Beaver in Penetration". Thats just classic comedy gold right there.

- How about them Patriots
You might be dating yourself Matt. Tom Brady didnt have much time with Terry Glenn or Ben Coates on his teams they were more with Drew Bledsoe. Ben Coates's time with the Patriots was from 1991-1999, Terry Glenn's tenure with the Patriots was from 1996-2001(half a year with Tom Brady). If you take a closer look at Terry Glenn's stats for 2001 he sat out most of that year he only had 14 receptions and 204 total yards. David Givens, Deion Branch both great receivers but I personally would not put them on par with Harrison and Wayne. Troy Brown although a great player and receiver isnt in the same class as the receivers that Tom has now, hence he hasnt played much this year. Dante Stalworth, Randy Moss, and Wes Welker all where acquired in the off season prior to this season. With those acquisitions our number 1 receiver last year Jabar Gaffney is currently our 4th receiver this year. Although Tom's rookie year was in 2000, he didnt see any real playing time until Brain Cox of the Jets knocked Drew Bledsoe out of the game in the 2001 season. What I was eluding too was that this is possibly the first year that Tom's receiving core is better or the same as Peyton's. Considering last year Tom was throwing the ball to a cast of nobodies, and he got them to the AFC Championship game only to come up short. - How about them Patriots
