lol I see we are calling out the brain trust out here. Well the "turnover" of lakes depends on a number of situations, such as; geographic location, water clarity, springs, inlets. The general trend for lakes turning over is from North to South. Factors that will effect this are if the water is clear or stained, if there are any springs feeding the lake, the altitude of the lake. Other than that its just watching the temp gauge on your graph.

To the contrary I live right across the boarder from you in NH and the last time I was fishing last season on Open water for LM Bass was actually Jan 7th this yr. So fish will and can be caught after the lake turns over.

Ok So on the advice of RW and other I set out to try some Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft for my cold water fishing line this fall. I also wanted to pick up some GYCB twin tail hula grubs in Green Pumpkin as I had just run out last trip out, a Lucky Craft Splash Tail, and a Plano Magnum Worm Binder. Well I have tried BPS, Cabellas, and ***. None of these retailers have all of these products some have all but one or two. Anyway I was just trying to get around for double paying on S/H. So anybody have any other reputable online tackle dealers that will carry all of these products or think they might please post their site here. Thanks in advance and for listening to me rant...

I couldnt disagree more with your statement, that the TBS crew is good. The watched a ground ball up the middle and claimed oh here comes a dbl play ball. When there we already 2 outs in the inning. The color commentator was making statements like" Pitching to Big Papi in this situation is a mistake. If I were the pitcher I would try and hit him in the waist". Who makes statements like that!? Saw the Indians/Yankees game last night. Yankees might have a hard time getting past Indians if they do at all. Looking to be a great October of Baseball....

Im fishing in NH and we havent even come close yet to any of our lakes turning over yet. Im still reading lake temps in the 60s. We have a long way to go before lakes start turning over. Unless we hit some really cold weather soon.

LOL This is where it gets really funny. I know you must be an Indy fan me Im a Patriots fan. Lets keep the facts straight. New England was caught video taping defensive plays signals on the Jets game. The Patriots never video taped Offensive play signals because well there arent any. The Offensive plays are sent into the QB via a radio device into the QBs helmet. So your assumption that the Patriots cheated by figuring out the Colts offensive signals is ludacris (and I dont mean the ATL rapper) at best. That my friend is just defense which the Patriots pride themselves on, coaching, play calling, and team work not cheating. I think the reason the national media is so hot for the Patriots is becasue for the first time in his career Brady has a star WR group. Moss, Stallworth, Welker I mean he never had WRs with this much speed or talent. Brady and Co. got to the AFC Championship game and lost to the Colts last year. He had 4th stringers on any other playoff team as starters last year. Think of it this way would Manning be the QB he is without the presence of Harrison and Wayne, replacing them with 4th stringers. Granted hed still be good but great WRs makes the QB better. Brady now has a receiver core to rival or be better than Mannings. It still comes down to Defense and in that regard I would give the edge to the Patriots, but Im biased Im a Patriots fan. I think it will be a great game when these two collide especially if they are still undefeated.

I am a huge Red Sox fan and I do share you enthusiasm Im not going out on that limb yet. Plenty of baseball to play and the Yankees are still in it and you know nothing is safe when its Red Sox Vs Yankees. Other than that Beckett looked as good as any performance I have sen by anyone in the playoffs in recent history. Lets get back at em on Friday and hope Dice-K is just as good. Go Sox!!!

Well when ever they do get to play the Cowboys regardless of what their record is it will be a good game. The teams that concern me in no order, Colts, Cowboys, Ravens, Steelers. These are some of the teams I know we have had tough games against in the past and play us tough just as tough as some of our divisional rivals. Taking a peak at the Cowboys schedule as of late they are 4-0 but have won against 2 teams that are 0-4 Miami, St Louis, 1 team thats 1-3 being Chicago and the Giants are 2-2. Speaking of Indy they have lost some good role players in the off season, and when the Patriots travel to play them at Indy it will be a huge game especially if they are both still undefeated. Unlike the Patriots they have had some closer games but also some stiffer competition. It will be an interesting season however it unfolds. As far as Rodney Harrison I think their secondary isnt as dependent on him as in the past. It just seems the last few games we have lost in the post season might have gone differently if he was healthy and on the field playing rather than banged up, just my observation. He is definalty a spark to our defense and Im glad we will have him back.

You guys are tough no respect for the Patriots. Our opposing teams havent been great that is true but when we played them Jets 0-0 but a tough divisional team that were in the playoffs last year, Chargers were 1-0 and the National guys were touting them to be a team that was going to be there in the playoffs, Bills 0-2 but a tough divisional team, Bengals 1-2 an explosive offensive team that has allot of injuries on their D. The Browns game this coming weekend will be a test as well as playing the Cowboys. The other dimension to their success that is surprising to me that nobody is talking about is how well their defense is playing. With this I mean that arguably their best DB is going to be playing for the first time this year Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour who is a beast on the D line hasnt played yet, he is expected to return after the Cowboys game I believe.

Ok I'll take a stab at this. Red Sox in 4 Yankees in 4 Phillies in 5 Diamondbacks in 4 Oh almost forgot how dominate did Josh Beckett look last night? He just made it look to easy. Another thing, how awful are these TBS announcers omg what a disgrace. As much as I dislike McCarver and Buck the TBS idiots didnt know how to call a game if they went mute and became marionettes and had someone do the talking for them. I never though that calling a game was an art form or hard to do, these guys clearly made up my mind that some people have the skill and others will never have it, even if they got some spam emails telling them that if they took this pill that their game calling ability would surprisingly grow over night. MLB and TBS should be embarrassed by their performance.

Patriots Vs Cowboys. That will be a very good game. First they have to get by the Browns then its bring on the Cowboys. oh and Go Patriots!!!

Ok so I had one of those days, this weekend that you stop and question yourself am I having fun yet. So it all started this past weekend morning at 6am started for my friends house about 10 mins away with my Nitro in tow. The goal was to pick him up and head to a little lake in Mass. that we havent fished at all but heard some decent reports about. Im half way to his house and go over allot of bumps in the road and low and behold I hear a clanking and a bang. I look in my rear view and didnt see anything so I keep going. Then I notice when Im going over a narrow bridge that one of my trailer lights is dangling by its wires off of my boat trailer. Well I was nearly 1 minute from my friends house so I decided to keep on going, and fix the problem when I got there. I pull to the end of his driveway inspect the situation. Well looks like the nuts on the light housings came loose and off she went. Weird thing is that the bolts for the lights were still in the slots I put them they didnt fall out. Well my friend had some spare nuts and bolts from a trailer light repair job he did on his trailer so we mounted the light and he began to tighten up the light. He cranks it down nice and tight until I hear the nice sound of plastic breaking and know that he has just broken the mounting slots on the back of the light housing. I look at him and just say "Forget it, dont worry about it". Off we go to the lake its about a 40 min ride to where we are headed. Two exits away from getting off the highway I hear a car honking from behind me just in time to see my life jacket doing its best Wiley Coyote impression to hang on but eventually fly out of the boat. Great now Im done 1 life vest, Friend says why dont we turn around and snag it. I look at him and say "Its a 3 lane highway, Im not running in the middle of traffic for a $20 life vest". We reach the lake put the boat in the shallowest launch I have ever seen. I was in my truck and I was probably a good 10-15ft from shore before my boat floated. We start fishing its still somewhat early so fairly windy, wind blown banks with topwaters and spinnerbaits a no brainer. Well we scored I think every fish in the lake in the 10-15in size range. We threw every thing I could think of and came away with nothing but dinks. We come in 8hrs later and notice that I parked the trailer on a decking screw and it went flat. tear my truck apart getting the jack and wrench, switch the tires for the spare. I think to myself I do this for fun and entertainment right? I must be into self torture. Im trying to forget the day talking about where on our next trip we are going. Back on the highway we are almost at his exit up comes a State Trooper behind me. I have the CC on doing 66mph think to myself hrmmm Im fine. Sure enough the lights go on I start to pull to the side I give my friend a look like "I dont need this $h!t". So up walks the State Trooper hand him the registrations and lic. Looks at me "What happened to your Lic plate?" "For what? I answer. "Your boat trailer has no Lic plate" So it appears that the clanging I heard when my trailer light fell off wasnt the light it was actually my Lic plate bouncing off the road as I drove away. Great I thought. I explain to the Trooper what happened he saw my registration called it in. He gave me a warning about the Lic plate and told me to get it resolved ASAP. I was on my way home, thinking I need to find a hobby to relieve the stresses of fishing. Anyway just goes to show you you never know what kind of day lies in front of you good or bad. I didnt go SKUNKED and that should count for something.

Well they may have a good eye but I think they fumbled quite a bit using Okajima and Dice-K as much as they did. They both came from Japan and Okajima was lights out until he hit the proverbial wall same with Dice-K neither of them have been in a season this long before. I hope with the rest they have they will be effective for the post season run. I hope Eric Gagne has righted his ship and will be a contributer rather than a crap shot. Buckholtz(sp?) looks good and Beckett has matured into the ACE he is.

Man you guys are all NL fans. Close races in the NL. Red Sox 3 games up over the Yankees, tied with Cleveland for best record in the AL. We will no doubt be playing the Angels in the 1st round of the ALDS. We own all the tie breakers with the Angels and Indians. Beckett on the mound tonight going for his 21st win. Go RED SOX!!!
