  1. Figure why not, it will defiantly save you some money.
  2. I'm sure ill be selling off my rods to build new ones once i get rolling
  3. With the price of repairs and that being an older fiberglass I wouldn't mess around with it. Aluminum doesn't go bad fiberglass does
  4. I love my aluminum 2004 Trition 176 Magnum, id put it up against any other 17ft aluminum bout out there. Rated for 125hp and the storage is unreal, they are hard to find but worth the time and travel. I looked at fiberglass but I'm rough on stuff and like others have said its easier to find a tin boat in good shape vs a fiberglass in the same price range.
  5. Well I just ordered a kit from mudhole, can't wait to get started. This is the kit I got. http://www.mudhole.com/Brandon-Lester-Custom-Bass-Fishing-Rod-Kit
  6. I was thinking that but the kits are on sale right now so I figured id grab one and then maybe a cheap rod to try out on
  7. well I'm ordering 3/4in so ill let you guys know how it goes
  8. Been watching bass master live lately and I haven't seen anyone mess with the hydrowave yet
  9. Ive actually have a couple broken rods I thought about doing the same on. Cant decide if I wanna go with the Jon Cox kit or Brandon Lesters.
  10. I tried messaging you on here and it would let me.
  11. Hey I've been talking to you about meeting up and doing a repair on a rod for me. Ill have to pick your mind when we meet up.
  12. Well I like to think of that as saving money
  13. Lately I have been on the kick of wanting to get into building rods. Been looking at the kit on mud hole and watched a bunch of videos and it doesn't seem to bad. What will I be getting myself into and is this a leap I should make? I don't like paying a lot for nice rods so I figured maybe make them and save a little coin while having fun.
  14. Im gonna order the material to make my own rod sleeves. Im curious if any of you guys do your own and what size your using. I was looking at 3/4" but measured a few of the ones I have and they look to be around 7/8".
  15. I put an 80lb on a 17ft aluminum bass boat and sometimes I wish I just made the jump to a 112
  16. Ive been wondering the same thing. When I get it all loaded up I'm gonna take it to the local dump and they will weigh it for you for a few bucks.
  17. I just like the idea for the money if I do break it, it will be covered. Ill actually be meeting up with DVT next week he is about an hour away from me. I will be mainly using 3/8 to 1/2 weight, my hands aren't the most sensitive hands so thats a big thing I'm trying to do. The rod I have now isn't very sensitive at least to me.
  18. I really got into drop shot fishing last year and used a skeet reese drop shot rod and it did everything it needed to do. Well come now and I bought a new Dobyns champion extreme flipping rod and couldn't believe the feeling vs my 100$ rod. Now saying if I had 3-350 to spend on just a rod what would you guys suggest and warranty is a big factor. Thanks guys looking to add another rod to the arsenal. This was my biggest last year using a roboworm
  19. For a 100$ more you could have gotten the 12 if you weren't dead set on the 8
  20. Love the wrap I've been debating on doing something along the same line.
  21. I was thinking the same I haven't felt em new so I'm not sure
  22. Hey guys I'm looking to order new shocks for all the lids on my boat. The stock ones have 20lb springs in them would it hurt to go up to 30lb springs? Its a dollar more and got me thinking. What do you guys think? Thanks Josh
  23. I have a 12ft talon on my triton 176 and just added another I won't have a boat with out at least one anchor now. I to went talons because of space in my rear compartment. I just bought a 12ft talon for 1560 shipped plus they have a 100$ rebate going on right now
  24. Well I've been looking at the 7'6" dobyns rod for c rigs but seen the specs weren't to far off of my 795. The older champion extreme has a softer tip thats what i was gonna try. Plan on getting the c rig rod before summer
