  1. Wow.....very nice pike!
  2. Opryland = BPS....you're in luck for the shopping days...she'll love Opry Mills Mall and the BPS is in it...WIN-WIN. Smallies = jigs on Dale Hollow, I would suggest a day up there. Punisher Jigs with a chunk are the ticket there. Plastics , jigs and spinner baits will all work locally on Old Hickory, Percy Priest or Cheatham. There are all species on these lakes. There will be many options in the Nashville area.
  3. I'm late on this too but the differentiation between ogleing and looking is well put. As for my two cents I am divorced so I guess I speak from failed perspective but perhaps others can benefit from my shortcomings. Lady Bass, I think if its bugging you enough to talk about it here it's probably time for you guys to seek professional help as suggested by others. My ex and I did that, worked on things for months and in the end it was decided it best for us to split. At least when we did it wasn't for lack of trying and we ended up reasonably friendly. Although our kids were older it also helped make it much better for them. I don't advocate splitting up if at all possible but sometimes it is for the best. Six years have past and I must say there is alot of regret that it didn't or couldn't work out but I beleive we are happier overall. For informational purposes without going into any detail I will say that neither of us were cheating on the other so I think that made things alot more civil. I guess my point is to try really hard to work it out as that is the best outcome but at some point it may not be workable and then perhaps it's time to move on which is very difficult even under the best of circumstances. You have my prayers for a better outcome than mine.
  4. Keepin my mouth shut
  5. Almost as much fun as fishin for bluegill with crickets ;D
  6. Dale Hollow is not really near any metropolitan area, Nashville is the biggest city near it. Celina or Livingston are the closest towns and there is a pretty interesting Amish community near Celina. I saw they are catching Muskie on the Collins River (I think) which is just south of Nashville. I saw that on one of the local outdoor shows recently.
  7. RW is right that Dale Hollow is a bit far to commute from Nashville. It's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive. But if you do decide on the music city it's an extremely beautiful lake, the wife might just enjoy one day on a boat for the scenery there, I would definitely go there one day if you do come here. Look me up if you come here, maybe we could fish together one day.
  8. Forget the Red Sox tickets.....I'll have made you a Yankee fan after the Fork trip anyway That way you can get a GLX and a Legend Elite....no way either one of us will do as well as LBH but we can look cooler with our new fishin bling ;D ;D
  9. Glad you got there safe........looking forward to your return and the new "TRAINED" muddy man ;D ;D
  10. Norm, I agree with roadwarrior. I have an AVID baitcaster and love it. Here is an alternative. I have one of these 6'6" with my stradic and really love it. This would be a bit more than the avid but this ebay seller is selling these about $100 under list. I have bought one from him with no problems. It was shipped in a heavy cardboard tube just like it came from any of the major retailers (it actually seemed like it was in St Croix packaging). http://cgi.ebay.com/St-Croix-Legend-Elite-ES70MF-Spinning-Rod-NEW_W0QQitemZ190045073674QQihZ009QQcategoryZ23819QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item190045073674 Either way we're gonna reel em in on the Fork! Happy shopping! Carl
  11. Man you have had it tough. I hope you find something really good in the near future....thoughts and pryers are with you.
  12. I use the palomar with braid which I have on one set up. I actually have converted to the palomar from the improved clinch on any line I am using.
  13. Valascus.......no sense even thinkin about it......if he's coming he's ours! Matsui & Matsuzuka....a couple of Yankee Doodle Dandy's if I ever saw em....
  14. Welcome from a fellow cigar fan.........you will enjoy this site
  15. If she doesn't want to its gonna be a long uphill hike which will be no fun for anyone.....kinda like asking a guy to go to a tea room for lunch if he doesn't want to. If she wants to, why then by all means, but they are all different just like males, do it on mostly her terms and heed what RW said.

I was out of town last night on business with no computer access. Not being on here was like bein a fish out of water. Just wanted to let everyone know what a great bunch of folks I think participate on this forum and how much fun it is for me. Can't wait to actually meet some of my newfound friends at the Fork and maybe at a ballgame.
  17. Hey YankeesWin, Great photo.......and 12 new Yankee Fans!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
  18. I think it's sad that we are compelled by the democrat and republican parties to even have this discussion. I wish the leaders of the parties would see this thread. Regardless of our individual politics this is a group of people that is patriotic and very caring. To drive a group like this to have this discussion is in a word "disgusting". I hope the parties and the candidates begin to get this message as I'm sure we're not the only ones sick to our stomachs by the current electoral process! I wonder what the children are thinking after watching all the TV advertising. I'll bet it's not good!
  19. St Croix is my favorite but I do have a G Loomis which is equally as nice.
  20. I think I'm gonna move to New England so I can hang out with LBH!! ;D
  21. I agree wholeheartedly regarding our choices across the country. However, I cannot support not voting. I spent too many years as a Boy Scoutmaster and preached to too many young boys that it is not only a right but we have a duty as a citizen to vote. I would be a pretty poor example if I didn't vote. Here is what I have done. The new voting machines have a button to push for a write in ballot. If you select that you can then type in any name you want. I have written in my choice for every item. Trust me they were neither republicans or democrats but rather an individual who I know personally and trust. I have excercised my right and duty to vote and have legitimately voiced my dissatisfaction with the major parties.
