National College Football Champions?
Another point to consider in college scheduling is that it is done years in advance and teams are scheduling now for 2009 and 2010. Not picking on the Buckeyes but as an example what may be a great Ohio State team now could be very mediocre in 2 to 3 years.

National College Football Champions?
Interesting......I haven't checked the other SEC schedules but my Volunteers played Cal this year and did pretty well. We will play them again next year. We have played Notre Dame 4 times in the past 10 years. We have NC State and UCLA (in the same year) scheduled in two years. Oregon is down the road some. Add that to rivalry games every year with Georgia, Florida, Alabama, rotate Auburn and LSU in alternating years. I think it would be pretty hard to come up with anything much tougher than that.

Shimano Citica
This is not the only good choice but it is an excellent one in your price range. I have one and am extremely pleased. They may have a 100 model out by Christmas which is very much worth considering.

what type of Braid??
Me too, but am only using it on one rod. I have really liked the braid so far and may start using it on more of my set ups.

National College Football Champions?
Hey Catt and the LSU fans, I was at the game yesterday in hopes my beloved Vols would give you guys a spankin It's a shame you have those 2 losses with that defense. I have been at all the TN home games this year and that is by far the fastest and most talented defense I've seen. If not for turnovers you guys would have killed us and pehaps the FL game outcome would have been different. IMHO LSU easily has the talent to be in the Nat'l Championship mix. After the past two seasons I have to wonder about Les Miles and the coaching job. I know he's new but is the Tiger nation getting restless???? I think I would be....when you have that kind of talent you have to make the run when you can. It just seems to me they are very good but have been underachieving under Miles.

Are You Ready for Some NFL Trash Talk
I think the Broncos vs Steeler game today will be really interesting. Will the Steelers come back to life???? They need to show up today, they're at home and have more talent than the 2-5 record. I think they will wake up and give the Bronco's a run but will fall short. Big Ben is struggling too much and the Denver D will get to him early. We may see Charlie Batch before the day is out.

Funny article
I agree with you wholeheartedly Avid......as a card carrying geezer I can honestly say I either am too lazy or not smart enough to figure out how to use most of this stuff. Sooooo.....I'll just be grateful to catch what comes my way and enjoy the process of catchin em to the best of my limited ability.....as our friend Muddy would say

1 reel
If it was one of my current ones it would be my Curado 100.....but if I had to use it the rest of my life I'd probably invest in a Steez or something really high end like that

JIG & PLASTIC ROD ??
I have a viento with a St Croix 6'6"Legend tournament MHF for jigs. I think the MHF is the right rod for this application. It is also what is recommended by St Croix in the legend tournament series for this application. I believe the same would hold true in the Avid and Premier series

freshwater fishing rod
Welcome to the forum....you've come to the right place. I would get a St Croix Premier Rod and a Shimano Sahara reel. Should be right within your budget. Are You Ready for Some NFL Trash Talk
A noted philosopher summed up the Bears something like this: "They are what we thought they were.....crown their arse if you want...they are what we thought they were....AND WE LET EM OFF THE HOOK" Just like I let too many fish off the hook ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
