Italian CookinThread Out of respect to Glenn
Sounds just like my Grandma except she would have brought jars of her sauce and meatballs just because and when she found the Chef Boyardee out the window it would fly!

The season is over and let the bidding begin
Hey red bird fans, Alberts a good man, he's just a bit young. A little more maturity and his future free agency will no doubt make him a Yankee (we'll be needin a 1st baseman) at which time (along with Derek's help) he'll have learned how to handle the press......I like this dream....

New MBR843C
Yup, and between us with the new stuff we're both buying we'll be the "Fishin Bling Brothers" (I like that name almost as much as "Two Mooks in a Boat") BTW....thanks for the input guys......I think I'm gonna remain a member of the Shimano Posse and go for the Cronarch MG50 for the light weight.......The new Daiwa Steez has me wondering but its pretty pricey comapred to the Cronarch

New MBR843C
I didn't need it but when Alpster was selling his G Loomis MBR843C GLX for a really really great deal I couldn't resist. THANKYOU Alpster! Sooo this is half of my Christmas present from the baitmonkey! The other half is gonna be a new reel for it. I know I'm going to want to use this most of the time. Since I have a crankbait setup and a finesse setup this will be used for applications other than those. If you were in my shoes what reel would you get????? Since this is such a fine rod price is of minor concern. I want to do the entitre setup justice. I am thinking about some of the lighter weight reels but that is not cast in stone. Seeking opinions to help in my decision........

Will Mark McGwire make the HoF?
Yikes Avid......you may just have hit Mud Man below the belt.....gotta be careful teasing those Italians about their cookin.....take it from a guy who had an Italian Grandmother.....I'll bet he's so mad he's ........ ;D ;D ;D Vote no on McGuire......stats are the foundation of baseball and they have been compromised by him and others....a travesty for baseball fans......JMHO

feeling grouchy What else is new PET FORUM PEEVE
It can be frustrating but sometimes the odd out answers have some good info too. May not help the person who asked but others can find the info helpful. As for these keep em coming Muddy....humor is always fun and hopefully folks are not so thin skinned that they fail to recognize it as such.

Am I the only one?
Hey Avid my situation is somewhat similar to yours after divorce. My two sons live close though so I get to see them for lunch both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not sure how much lomger that will last as they both have really great girlfriends and it looks pretty serious. After that its usually to girlfriends house. I don't particularly like the holidays either for alot of reasons. But I figure its only 2 out of 365 days. Muddy has his heart in the right place.........a better world it would be if more of us would do what he does.

Life is far from over up North
I love the four seasons too....Tennessee is not quite the winter wonderland like New England but we do get some snow and winter weather. I love winter hiking in the mountains and hills of Tennessee. With the leaves off the trees the views are spectacular. Nothings better than a light dusting of snow on the tree branches and Mountain Laurel while on an early morning hike. Oh and theres always the hot cider with that famous Tennessee resident Jack Daniels...........country ham biscuits from a country market on the way to the trail...... It's all good...........everywhere we go in this great country has it's own charm.... What a great day to reflect on that and be grateful for the diverse natural wonders we have in this great land of ours!

Spent 2 hours practicing with BaitCaster
I still go heavy on the brake settings. I'm pleased with my distance so I'll stay with the heavy brakes and back off over time (months). I got overconfident last summer and backed way off my brakes....wind came up and it was a huge bird nest more like a bird mansion. Brakes went back on and problem mostly solved. Like Catt suggests I still mess with mine in the house. It is all in the thumb. Good luck.....once you fish with it on the water you'll really like it.
