  1. The one from Melvern coming off that shelf rock by the campgrounds...that picture gets me every time!
  2. For those of you without the Facebookz, I just put this out there. More than welcome to join, just want to get one last hurrah in before the holidays and hard water!
  3. I'm still at 3-12 for my Smallie , 4 aint 4 for me unless its 4! Lol
  4. Saturday's and Sunday's guide trips at Melvern were both a grind, but good fish were still caught. On Saturday we absolutely just could not keep the white bass away. More white bass than I've ever caught at Melvern. Obviously the clients don't mind because they are so stout and fun to catch, but we did manage to weed through them and find decent brown fish. Had KS Bass Buddy's launching out of Eisenhower on Saturday morning, and the EKB guys from the corps ramp both days. Yesterday I had to giggle because at one point I counted 12 boats (more than likely all EKB) on the dam. We did make one very short dam trip, but fished deeper. 10-12 foot range, dragging tubes, dropping directly to fish seen on downvu. That's where I found my decent fish late yesterday. Had another good one on Saturday...on a JERKBAIT! But that was the only one, and wow was it an aggressive strike. Saturday was pretty much all moving baits, had maybe two fish on the Ned and one on a tube. The guys enjoyed fishing swimbaits and sqaurebills. Sunday my client couldn't put down a 1.0 and neither could the fish. The lake seems to somewhat still be turning over a little bit, which besides the added pressure, probably had something to do with the tough(er) than normal fishing. Water temps shifted between 60-63. All in all a good weekend with happy clients as always. Hoping next weekend won't be too much of a grind.
  5. Got a two piece guide trip at 'vern Saturday and Sunday, but I think I might go to Wolf or CV afterwards one of the two days.
  6. Y'all are both some terdz, especially you when you're on fire at Hillsdale Glad you guys joined up! Hopefully you don't hibernate for the winter, don't be a stranger!
  7. Soonest I can coordinate his schedule with mine, I'm gonna drive up der and grab it!
  8. Someone buy his 7' M Crucial dropshot before I go and do something stupid.
  9. I'll text you on that one.
  10. I just told Adam I'd get an event organized on Facebook for a fall classic like last year @ 'Vern. Coty, I have a guide trip at Clinton on Nov. 8th and I'd be willing to bet the Wiper are wolfpacking...
  11. I just can't help but make the loudest, wettest fart noise to that statement. It's the internet. I was being facetious. It's a lighthearted figure of speech between a group of friends. Haven't seen much from you, lurking around this thread for however long and not contributing or chiming in until you get butthurt over a statement, such as referring to EKB as turds. Lulz. I know several guys in EKB as well, and it's a good thing they don't suck as much as you do. Having fun with this group of guys every Thursday does fine by me.
  12. I saw that. I've guided plenty of weekends putting in with tournaments. Not so much worried about those turds.
  13. Caught too many fish on all the usual suspects to narrow it down to one. Swimbait, 3.5" tube, 1.0 or 1.5, annnnnd da Ned. Might try a lipless or spinnerbait if you're bored. Come say hey if you pass by.
  14. Read my latest post above. Like I said I'm fairly certain the lake is turning over. Smallmouth and muddy water don't get along. Find my boat and I'll throw you a rope to tow you along with us.
  15. Not necessarily tough as far as finding bites, but more finding big bites. We probably caught 30 or so fish, but only had two fish over 2#, and a few that came unbuttoned easily over 18". I can go out there and have an 8 hour trip and between 2-3 guys have a 60+ fish day, but this fall time stuff has me on the big fish grind. The only thing that made it extremely difficult was not being able to fish effectively because of the south wind and gnarly rollers. Also note that judging by the water, it looks like the lake is in the process of turning over. We did catch our fair share of whites that seemed to have taken over my normal big fish spots for that day. Back out Sat & Sun for two person guide trips, I think it should be good.
  16. Man I had an absolute blast this weekend. I've had my fair share of great days on Melvern and was excited to battle through the tough day and end up with 3rd shy of 10 lbs, and was more excited to see most everyone get on some fish and do well. I already can't wait for next April to start up our Thursday nights again, but like I said at the ramp let's not make it spring that we all see/fish w/ each other again.
  17. Hahahaha. To think I'd almost forgotten about that guy. Hopefully the Osage Co. sheriff too.
  18. That's not the same, no. But watching them go 5-0 so far without him is pretty awesome too Ok ok, back to fishing.
