  1. Hi all, I am always looking to try new techniques for bass fishing and the next one I want to try is the Carolina Rig. I have researched online for the basic rig and setup but I am still confused as what is the feel of the line so you know its time to sweep the rod for the hook set. I bought a 1/2 ounce tungsten weight, clear bead, and a Carolina Holder to try the next time I am out on the water. Any suggestions are welcomed that will make it easier to learn this fishing technique. Thank you all
  2. Question, Is there places to fishing from the bank at this location or will I be running from gators?
  3. Thanks, I think I will try that when the spool goes down more. Next time I will put some mono backing
  4. Hi all, After many reties or loosing fluoro line to snags, I was wondering if it's feasible to do a fluoro to fluoro line tie? If it was mono I would just throw away left over line but fluoro is not a cheap line to respool Any advise would be helpful
  5. Yup, just a thought since most of the time you want lures to imitate bait. More of a funny thought Most lures I use the logos are very small compared to the big yellow dot with the BPS logo.
  6. You guys make me have boat ***. I can only fish from the bank since I am boatless. I wish I could go to more areas but always worried about safety when fishing alone so I tend to stick to parks. At most I get 2-3 bass in a week, I can't imagine getting 30 in a day O.O
  7. You would be surprised at what things you may dredge up with a lipless. I pull up one of those plastic hand baskets that people use in the grocery store.
  8. Hi all, This past weekend I stopped off Basspro to buy some supplies and got a free Rapala lipless crankbait for coming in early. At first I thought it was nice till I saw the huge BPS logo stamped on the side of the lure. Does anyone think it will actually catch something? LoL I try to imagine a bass seeing it, that's a strange looking fish haha Just something that was on my mind and wanted to share.
  9. Thanks, read that article too. Having my Chronarch CI4 in the shop for cleaning so maybe I will see a difference.
  10. Hi all, I have been reading online that if you want to take your reel to the next level, Bocas are the way to go. Is this the concensus? One more question, once you have them installed, is there an annual maintenance you have to do for them as well? Thanks in advance!
  11. Thanks all. I think I will just do basic cleanings and just leave it to a professional for an annuals. Just took me too long lol
  12. I know Dink mentioned it before but is the norm to the bearings alone or those cleaned as well? I just wonder because of people switching the factory bearing for the Bocas
  13. How often do people open up the gear side to relube and clean?
  14. I got it, I had the drag super loose. Well, at least I got a lot of practice opening it up LOL Do you clean the worm gear as well and how do you go about it without getting more stuff in there?
  15. Even when the lock is engaged, the spool can still turn. If I pull on the line and try to reel, its like free spool. can't reel in the line.
  16. Hi all, I have a Shiamno Citica (left hand) that I don't use as much so I thought I might as well try to learn how to open it to clean and relube. I found this video on youtube from Shimano which is very helpful http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLpO74dWuoE. After putting the reel back together, I noticed the spool is always free to move. For those of you that are pretty good at this, where should I look for the problem? Thanks in advance!
  17. I think I'm starting to notice my baitcaster to be not as smooth as it was when I first unboxed it. Anyone recommend a good reel service location I could take it to? South Florida if possible. Thanks!
  18. Thanks, will stick to the lipless since I have fewer losses with those
  19. Hello and Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Just wanted to ask everyone if deep bank cranking is any good. I tried a few times with some deep cranks but they either get snagged or lost. I have some success with lipless cranks but I am still curious if deep cranks from the bank is good for the pocketbook?
  20. I know when cranking, it is recommened to go with a 5 gear but can you get away with a 6 if you force yourself to reel slower?
  21. I am mostly a bank fisher so I was looking for something to give me an idea of what the structure is like below. I stumbled on the Deeper Fish Finder online and started to research it. I was about to pull the trigger on it when I read a few bad reviews about Bluetooth connection not working. Anyone have experience with this device? Thanks in advance
  22. Just wondering what's working for everyone in South Florida so far. For me is lipless cranks and trick worms

I have one coming in the mail and wondered what setup you think works best. I am still trying to decide what lb line and do I go with braid or mono.
