Anyone see "300" ??
just got back from it...its pretty sweet. all the fighting was awesome, esp the spartan tactics. but some of the persian army stuff was weird, like rhinos and elephants. did anyone notice how the persian king look a little "fruity"? he had on some nice lipstick and wonderfully plucked eyebrows along with eyeliner haha. the 300 didnt defeat the whole army just so ya know, at the end the spartan army launches its full scale attack. anyways i thought it was pretty sweet.

Xrap vs. Husky Jerk
thanks muddy, that really does help...haha now i know why i havent been so "lucky" with my husky jerks, oh and the video helps but the directions on how to fish it helps a lot too. but back to the question, the following answer is NOT from personal experience, rather from a few articles i have read: when bass are in the transitional period, which is when the water temp is around 52 degrees, the husky jerk's slow, more subtle action, and suspension work best, it gives lathargic bass a little more time and encouragement. the x-rap seems to work better when the water temp warms up.

Dicks sporting goods
the dicks sporting goods in topeka isnt too bad, i have bought a shotgun there and lots of fishing tackle. the sale bins are ALWAYS full of cranks and plastics so thats nice, and they carry a nice selection too; about 8 aisles and a few walls.

Has anyone tried this?
haha i love that show....but i think you should do it, that would be really cool, as long as you can find some way to anchor yourself if you feel the need to stop and fish a spot. oh and dont forget the pics.

Fav gun makers
alright al....maybe not the "finest" gun, just the best, you can beat the crap out of it, give it a quick cleaning and its fine. you can take your expensive beretta and your other "fine" guns and go hunt with them, actually use them get em and little dirty....jeeez i tell ya. but i guess i was comparing it more to the rem 870 so. i use guns for hunting, so respectively thats how i would rank them.

Flouro for trout?
oh i see, and how much does this stuff run, i only need a small spool because i'll only be trout fishing for like 4 days, and this is my back up setup to my fly rod.

Fav gun makers
benelli makes the best shotguns...no doubt about it. if we're talking pumps the rem 870 is loved by more because the nova hasnt been around as long, give it a few more years and you'll see a larger amount of them in the duck blinds. i recently purchased a savage .270 bolt and have been extremely impressed with the accuracy, its not too heavy and the kick isnt all that bad. also have a vintage colt SAA .22LR. and a winchester model 77 .22LR that i absolutely hate. have had it into the gun shop twice and professionally cleaned and it still jams everyother shot, but hey its more than half a century old. of course i own a 12 ga benelli pump and a 20 ga ted williams sign. series model 200 that is just awesome for quail.

Flouro for trout?
I'm looking for a decent flourocarbon line for trout fishing. I'll be getting 4lb for my ultralight and I have never used flourocarbon before. I have heard good things about Yo Zuri Ultrasoft but can't seem to find it around here...maybe the new BPS will have it. Has anybody used tippet (like for fly fishing) as a leader while trout fishing? i'll be using 1/8 - 1/16 oz inline spinners. Thanks for the help!

Ultra light tackle
i used to use ultra light for everything, but i dont fish tourneys, and i wouldnt try it because i like fishing big baits like bulky jigs

Finally got some fish on the ice! *PICS*
i was reading in field and stream about how the thickness of the ice, and how much it can hold. i think it was like 2-3" will hold 150lb person and it goes up from there, its pretty strong...but dont trust my judgement, i fell through the river while scouting for ducks this winter...luckly the water only came up to my shoulders and i had my waders on, only soaked the coat....haha but it was like 15 degrees outside. i have always wondered about ice fishing, we have some walleye around here and would like to try to fish for some of those. and what is a flasher?

Club fishing Etiquete????
oh and with backing down the ramp, if its a long tongue (like most) it shouldnt be as hard, just follow the advice above ^,but if its a short tongue it will be significantly harder. i learned that the hard way... :

melting ice??
with my experience with duck hunting, 40 degree highs just isnt good enough. any melted ice will freeze come nightfall if it dips below freezing (duh) haha. but luckly for me its supposed to be 50 degrees for most of the week...but who knows around here it could freeze just as easily.

Bettle Spins?
no, they are pretty durable. i dont use them as much as soft plastics, but i did catch that 3 pounder on one<<<<. im not a big fan of spinner baits, but i kinda like the beetle spins. black with yellow stripes is good, orange or lime green with black stripes is also pretty good.
