  1. ill be honest with ya....their canada calls between 15 and 40 dollars dont sound that great, kind of a plastic and metallic sound...but that could be because its not in person
  2. hey im just getting into goose calling and was wanting to start out with a short reed, currently im blowing an echo black polycarbonate, but its really hard and doesnt break over very easy. i have heard some really good things about the Mick Lacy Chinook and was looking into getting one. obviously im not looking to spend a whole lot of money on a call yet, and i know that lower end calls are harder to break over and harder to blow but for now thats what im stuck with, just wondering what your favorite goose calls are? or heck even duck calls?

  15. I just hope that both of you know that most of these programs were instituted by FDR to ensure that we would not fall into another depression as deep as in the '20s and '30s, and not to provide a support system for those who plainly choose not to work but for people who are incapable of earning their own keep. im not taking either side; many people need these programs, but on the other hand they are being abused. :-/
  16. whoooaaa buddy your treading on thin ice there

i love the one liners and the dancing faces, but lets not be superficial, you seem to be a great guy
  18. ill be honest with ya...i never had much luck catching any big fish on a fly...could be the fly, could be me, but i just had to put the fly rod away until i go trout fishing...woolly bugs always caught bass for me, but like i said...none with any weight to them...but boy is it fun to fight a fish with a fly rod, i love it
  19. i just bought a pair of cabelas 5mm neoprene chest waders for duck hunting/trout fishing and i love them, super warm during the freezing cold mornings, and if you fish cold streams or rivers, insulated waders are the way to go; they have double the neoprene on the "stress points" like the knees, butt, and crotch, which i like because it just so happens you might meet a barbwire fence getting to your destination, and when you do it is very very possible you might take a chunk out of your waders....guilty. the only thing i could see going wrong with the stocking foot waders is that sand and debris can get in your shoe if your not wearing a gravel gaurd and tear up the foot of your wader, it just seems theres too much wear on that one area, though i do like the idea of being able to have a few different shoes with different soles. oh and with rubber boots, there is less of a chance that if you kick an underwater stick or sunken pole that it will puncture your boots, with wader material going all the way down to your ankle the possibility of puncture goes up.
  20. i love cabelas....but bass pro is opening a new shop about the same distance away as cabelas so ill have to check that out....sure i hunt more than i fish but i love both, and cabelas suits my needs....oh and the cabelas i go to has like a MILLION things to chose from...so i end up getting waaaaay too much stuff (if its possible), i usually end up finishing off my pay check.... :
  21. and dont forget that a smaller motor running full throttle will burn more gas than a bigger motor not having to go full throttle
  22. haha sure did but it was soo cold that my hands didnt shake all to bad....they were eh...frozen, and i know that 4 1/2 hours on a stand at 15 degrees is no biggie to some of you but for a third year deer hunter its pretty rough
