  1. sweet for a one person jobber but heck...what if i wanted to bring a buddy along...might be a tight fit....looks pretty sweet though
  2. any extras on the boat? how many hours on the motor? service on the motor? like most would suggest....a comp test on the motor and such....dont forget to test drive before you buy
  3. doesnt mean you need new seats....if you're a little handy you can go to a fabric store or maybe even walmart and pick up some foam padding....and do it yourself....could very well save you some money and heck if they still dont feel as you like them...then go buy a couple new seats....
  4. that looks like it took awhile good job
  5. hey did you get that from north american fisher or something like that? i have that issue
  6. lonestar lake, ks.....about 200 acres and as far as mastering it goes...yeahhh i dont think so
  7. i own the powerdrive 40 and it works fine for me...there is a delay between the foot pedal and the unit...probably about 1 second and it turns slower but it works good
  8. cant remember if its cabelas or bass pro...probably both but you can get some aluminium cleaner
  9. dig a big hole in my back yard....fill it with water....and bass....and some cover...and fish....then go out by 2 new rods and reels....left over money goes to lures.....but long term i would actually either end up buying guns or putting it in bonds....both yield some profit
  10. 50/50 jayhawkfishin and my dad
  11. long live the 2 stroke...and i hope it really doesnt effect the used boats prices....i'd sure be bummed :-/
  12. nice boat...i like the 200 on the back, lots of power
  13. yeah like sfc hall said it the v will ride better in the waves but a jon is good if you want to put a deck on it...v's arent so stable for decks, but i guess it all depends on the size of the boat (more importantly width and not legnth when considering stability) so for small lakes with not a lot of traffic a jon is possibly better than a v...are they welded? oh and the stability of the v depends on how deep the v is...
  14. i fish lone star often and it seems that you can only see down like 3 maybe 4 feet and it has never been much clearer than that... :-?
  15. how does one classify water color? i have heard stained and well clear but what are the levels?
  16. my dad came home the other day and told me that i had to have the battery in a battery box or a compartment, he said it was regulation but i searched our states website and it said nothing of this...does anybody know if this is true or not? btw i live in Kansas
  17. i personally dont recommend motorguide they seem to have more problems but thats just me and if you and 2 friends are going out on it i would say that you might need something bigger than 30lb....50 is ideal but with your price range you'd need to look for used one because they can cost quite a bit, but i guess if its on a large pond or a smalll lake then you might be able to get by but if your thinking of going on a medium sized lake you should go for the big guns....just my opinion -timmy
  18. awesome thanks

what kind of wood can you use for making cranks?
  20. haha thats a good one.... about the boat i think that 17' would be ok if its a v-hull but i would up the hp to 35 or so because once you become more confident in your driving skills you'll want more power....its really not that hard and just because you have 35 hp doesnt mean you have to use it all the time so you wont crash into anything....but on a big lake the 17 footer will be slightly rocky still
  21. any pics? enjoy it...i just bought my first boat too and well im 17 and i felt like i was 16 again...kinda....anyways its awesome have fun!
