  1. the DEADLIEST trick is when its weightless, sitting on the bottom...lift your rod tip like 6"-12" and shake the end like CRAZY then drop your tip and be ready....seriously this has worked AWESOME for me. i dont remember who but someone on this forum told me to try this...
  2. i guess its good that tomorrow my 18th b-day...time for a few new baits! ;D
  3. dont forget that the fronts bring barometric pressure changes...i think this has more effect on the bass than the quick change in air temp, though it also depends on the amount of water, but bass are very sensitive to pressure changes
  4. this was the case for me today...smaller cranks and small spinnerbaits seemed to be the key...though i have never caught anything outta there on plastics or jigs (trust me, i've tried) the inline spinnerbaits also work...the mepps algia with the squirrel tail and gold or silver spinner have always worked. good luck!
  5. since we're talking about turkeys, i think most hunters like the 12 gauge because of the range, with a good load/choke the effective range of modern hunters can really "reach out and touch em"....personally i like my shots within 25 yards for the sport
  6. ok so heres the deal...i have a rapala suspending jerk bait and today somehow the lip broke off...is there any sort of mod i can do to make it into another sort of bait? i'd rather not throw $7 into the trash...
  7. i think he was asking like technically...maybe not monetarily
  8. Silverstein, plain whites t's, the sleeping, funeral for a friend, rushmore academy, james taylor, tim mcgraw, clint black, kenny chesney, johnny cash, ice cube, dre, snoop, incubus, hawthorne heights, spitalfield, armor for sleep, the audition, cursive, underoath, chasing victory, as i lay dieing, Cute Is What We Aim For, dear whoever, drop dead gorgeous, and many more
  9. dont mean to hijack but why is a shearpin bad?
  10. i'd also like to join if theres still room
  11. we were talking about this in english today, teacher said that they use a "summer blend" during the summer so your car runs better...we all thought it was a load and is really a bunch of crap
  12. moral of the story....THERES NOTHIN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING! oh wait....maybe something for Wii?
  13. my uncle has a few old shotguns and most if not all of the "fixed" chokes were full. so, assuming thats what yours is, i recommend the winchester supremes, fairly expensive but when my beads on the turkey i dont want to worry about potency and power. personally i use the 12ga 3 1/2" mag loads in 6's ...so i would recommend the 2 3/4 mags in 6's and you'll need to try for closer shots, within 35 yards....20 yards is perfect oh and PS i would not put hevi-shot or any other sort of non-lead shot through there, some of the very old guns will get the inside of the barrel ripped up by the high density shot
  14. i had the same problem....and it was making like a gurgling sound...also it wouldnt hold a charge for more than 3 or 4 hours so we took it in and the diagnosis was that the battery was just shot, i dont know if this is the same with yours but it might be worth getting it checked out, most will do it for free, esp like autozone or local marine store and of course a battery place
  15. oh so slick muddy...i see that the bps reel is no longer fine enough, you posted it for sale haha
  16. what will you be towing...that is the real question 8-)
  17. i imagin that thing would eat a bass! its poisonous and i read that it eats snakes and small crocks...yikes, i watched the video of the capture and this guy was loosely chasing it...i mean come on, its poisonous...pretty sure i'd be running but heck i wouldnt mind catching the bass that ate that thing it would have to be a MONSTER!
  18. now THATS some solid advice 8-)
  19. i have about 30 or 40 shot glasses that i put all my change in, and within 4 months i had like $40 and the bank gave me those paper things so i fill a few of those up usually just dimes and quarters but also nickels and then cash em in...great idea, and maybe that destination will be close to my area that would be sweet too
  20. im 1/2 scot....malcolm or McCollum in the old country
  21. the bit about music genres starting to sounds the same is true but not so true...much of the music is just becoming more "mainstream" so yes it does all sound the same, but like anything you have to delve deeper into it to find the true music. for me i like emo, some metal, country, and some hip hop....metal would def have to be as i lay dieing 8-)
  22. all the time, i use a yum craw papi with a spot remover...same idea, and yes VERY effective
  23. plus your 17, its illegal, which probably doesnt matter, but whoever is selling/buying it for you is committing a more serious offense and your putting that person in danger as well as yourself *stepping down off the soap box*
  24. agreed....a spot of super glue seems to help, though it isnt NEEDED
  25. the only reason i say use the round one is because i think the rubber innertubes are a little stronger than the plastic that the pontoons are made out of. i have the round kind for duck hunting on rivers.
