  1. I never use a trailer, never needed one. Never needed a trailer hook either
  2. Anybody use these? What do you think about them?
  3. Yessir, that daggum hat monkey got me again. Oh for shame.
  4. How are they? How do they compare with Husky Jerks, X-Raps, and Smithwicks?
  5. Well crap...now I actually have to spend some money, and buy a reel for this thing. Pfffttt.
  6. I tried it at KFC once...it was alright.
  7. Ive used Boohyah, War Eagle, Stanley, and Revenge spinnerbaits. Theyve all been good, but I think I favor the War Eagles over all. The Revenge double willows I have are cool because they use slow-start willow blades. Meaning the blades are flatter, and less concave, allowing them to spin at a much slower retrieve speed. As far as colors go, Im experimenting with a number of different color patterns this year, just for fun, but, its hard to beat White w/Gold Willow.
  8. I always felt the Savage Gear reaction craw, represented a happy medium between realism vs. action, in such a way that ought to appeal to the fish in both ways, equally. But, Ive never used it, so I dont know.
  9. Nope. Not worth it. The size range of the average fish that I pull out of this water most often, on any given day, under any conditions, is 14"-16." The average PB I can expect to catch here is 5-6lbs. The single greatest fish I can hope to ever catch here, after hell freezes over, and after pigs fly...is probably about 8lbs. None of these fish, are worth a $20 bait. But that's just me.
  10. Just got a St. Croix Triumph X casting rod.........but it was a birthday gift. So, it was sort of free.
  11. Just received this rod as a belated birthday gift. I already have a casting rod that I use and like. So then, what special purpose shall I set this thing up for? Rod specs are.. - 6'6" - MH fast - lure wt. up to 1oz.
  12. That bad huh?
  13. Haha....howd that work out?
  14. Yeah wild goose chase. Ok nevermind then. I'll just keep looking, and maybe pose the question on the Goose-hunting board.
  15. Will Power...and pre-rig your plastics Pack only what will fit into one box, and bring one box for every 4-hours of fishing time that you expect to be on the water. So then 4hrs = 1 box, 8hrs=2 boxes, 12hrs = 3 boxes...and so on. Why 4 hrs? Because one box, easily holds enough crap, for you to fish your waters effectively, and satisfactorily, for at least 4 hours.
  16. I saw a picture of something that I like, and I think I want. Of course I cant find the picture anymore, but Im looking for, what appeared to be a hard jerkbait-looking bait, that had this great green/white, almost sort of a limetruese color scheme to it. I really like that color pattern. Does that sound familiar to anybody? thanks
  17. Previously, on "Is there a Black Hole in My Garage?"..... I lost a swim jig that I put together, It was no where to be found, and I was baffled because there was nowhere for it to hide, and no reason at all for it to be gone. It shouldve been easy to find, because it was Pink/White, with a 4.8 Keitech FAT trailer. And all I did was take it from the house, to the garage......what in the world? And now for the conclusion... I came to realize, that jig was missing...because.........(wait for it)......I never built it. Thats right, I couldnt find it, because it was never there. I mean I did built it previously, but I had since (like a month or so ago) changed my mind about the idea, and took it apart. I put the pink skirts on a spinnerbait, and rebuilt the jig with a silver shad skirt......which, just happens to be, sitting snuggly in by tackle box, right where it was always supposed to be. Whhoooosh....definitely had a bald moment there.
  18. By golly, I might have to try that.
  19. Ok, let me make sure Im reading this right...I might not be. So are you saying that the topography of this other reservoir, could be affecting the fish's behavior in a manner that is not conducive to horizontal jigging?
  20. Some folks may disagree with me, but to be honest, I actually think they work the very best, far and above, during fishing season.
  21. Be sure that the color matches your purse...I mean, your tackle bag.
  22. Holy cow. Thats not a spoon, thats a garden spade.
