Grandebass Flash.....winner!
Almost forgot... Also, on a slow steady retrieve, I was able to impart a swimming action onto the bait, just by tapping my finger against the rod.

Grandebass Flash.....winner!
Ok so I finally picked up a pack of these in a color that I can see. My previous pack was in Houdini color, and as it turns out, my water is also Houdini color, So I really couldn't see how this thing was functioning. But now that I have the white pearl color, let me tell ya - oh yeah, Im impressed. I took it out for a test drive at the pond this morning, and here is how I compare it to a super fluke... PROS > Almost a wider range of motion per each jerk. > Much, much wider range of actions than SF. Meaning, it also responds enticingly even to the very slightest change of tension on the line. This allows you the option, if you so desired, to impart even the most subtle action onto this bait, and it will respond. > This allows you more variety of presentation, and really brings this thing to life. > When you kill it, it dies better than everything. It really does. It still has subtle tail action even when on the fall. > This is by far, the easiest soft jerkbait to work effectively. Not that a SF is difficult to work with, by any means, but this thing, has brought the ease-of-use to another level. > Its bulkier which allows for better casting. > No kinked tails out of the package. > Would even be great on a shakyhead. CONS > Limited colors > If you prefer to use hooks larger than a 3/0, its hinged design may not accommodate them. > Durability is good, but I dont really like how slender the nose is. CONCLUSION Excellent bait, very well thought out design. Its hinged body, and flexible forked tail make this Grandebass Flash an incredible mimic of a dying minnow. This will be my choice jerkbait. Anyone want to buy my Super Flukes?

Spinnerbait Skirts
Yes, I have some of those myself, as well as others that were made in the same manner as those. All of them fit all of my spinnerbaits. I do not own any Terminator spinnerbaits.

Kalins 6" Mogambo Grub On A Swim Jig.
This skirt is nice also. Even unexpectedly so. It is a Naked Baits Starflash Skirt from TW. What is interesting about it, is that the translucent strands are round, like some rubber skirts. And they seem a slight bit more rigid than other skirts, which certainly adds more bulk and body to the bait. I get good vibes.

TW has them. As does, Bass Pro, and Im sure other online retailers would have them. But as mentioned, the full line-up can be found on the Kalins site, which is part of Uncle Josh's site. A similar grub is made by Action Plastics called a Super Mag grub. They claim it is 5" but its really 6." But Im not sure how they measure things, because their 5" Mag grubs are actually 3.5"

Spinnerbait Trailers
Im going to go ahead and disagree with this as well. I'll tell you why. Because a spinnerbait, inherent to its design, brings with it qualities such as, noise, flash, vibration, color, and the pulsating movement of the skirt. Working together, these qualities appeal to all of the fish's senses, all at once. The way I see it, any bait that can do that, is indeed, a complete bait.

Spinnerbait Trailers
Orrr....I could just not put a trailer on there at all, and catch fish with the bait just fine as-is, without having to get out my tools and bend the thing all up. I like that idea better.

Spinnerbait Trailers
Never been a fan of spinnerbait trailers. But only because of my own personal preference - I dont like the way it looks. Not to say that it wont catch fish, Im sure the fish dont mind either way. But, consider this. When a spinnerbait goes through the water, the spinning blades create an opposing drag-force, that is off-center from the line. This drag pulls the top half of the bait backwards, causing the head to go nose-up, and thus pointing the hook down below the skirt. Well, if you attach a trailer to the hook, what you end up with is the trailer sticking out from the bottom of the skirt, rather than straight out of the back like a jig. I just think this looks wonky, and is not my preferred presentation. Besides, the blades by themselves work more than enough just fine by me.

Suggestions please.. What would be a relatively efficient way to remove a wire-tied skirt? Looks like Im going to need some tiny cutters.

How Many Baits Do You Really Need?
You can fish successfully with a smaller variety of baits, only after you have established which baits have produced most consistently under most conditions. This requires time to figure out.

Pop off your front blade and hang that on the hook, as a trailer.

Of those choices, I would use the 3/0. I like the 4/0 better on the 4.8 Keitechs.
