  1. I have my drag set pretty tight because I fish these jerkbaits on 12 Lb Flouro and like being able to horse the fish a little bit, and generally I am fishing current breaks, so I'm putting a lot of stress on these split rings for the Pointers, but that same cannot be said for the 110s.
  2. There's probably a content filter on the website that determines viewer elegibility by the region your IP is registered under. Youtube does the same thing. You usually can't just bypass it by loading the website on a European domain.
  3. When you include the technical jargon it sounds immaculate, but it's as easy as downloading and installing an app. Then you're done.
  4. My pointers seem to produce bigger bites when the fish are more aggressive. But when the bite is tough, there is NOTHING better than my 110s and 110 Jrs. The problem being, I've had 2-4 pound smallmouth bending out the hooks on my Pointers, and also tearing off the split rings a couple of times. I'm not at all impressed with the hardware on Lucky Craft JBs.
  5. Well that's proof enough for me. Strong and light wire is as good as it gets. I'll have to get a trial pack and see what I think.
  6. It certainly is, however that's a little large for a trailer and some more finesse applications. I went with the 3.8" for the Fat Swing Impact last time and was super happy with them. Very versatile baits. Also bought their Easy Shiner for drop shotting. Absolutely slayed em'.
  7. Some people think you're paying for the name, but Keitech Swing Impact and Fat Swing Impact are absolutely fantastic swimbaits. They are certainly a little less durable though. If you're looking to save some money, I had pretty similar productivity using the BPS Speed Shad. They have very similar profile and action and are made out of a tougher plastic. As far as for a trailer, I use the Bruiser Baits Super Swimmer Junior. The tails on those things thump violently and displace tons of water.
  8. Up here I avoid lighter wire trebles, because big pike will eat my jerkbaits often, and they will straighten those hooks out in a heart beat.
  9. I will keep that in mind. My supplier is very fond of AmTak blanks and components as well.
  10. No. All it's doing is bouncing your internet connection to a server hosted in another region (of your choice.) Your ISP, internet browser, and the website you're on, see your internet activity coming from that area and deliver programming/content according to that location's access privelages, as opposed to the UK's. You're effectively just spoofing your location. This doesn't work as well on phones, because of the dual location services they often employ and require for apps to authenticate with.
  11. Well the nice thing is, you can use a VPN to watch any programming you want from around the world essentially. Also, there are free VPNs that will accomplish the same thing, they are often just substantially slower and less reliable.
  12. This year has been my breakthrough year fishing jerkbaits, and I've found that some of the higher end jerkbaits (Megabass and Lucky Craft) come with some pretty shoddy factory trebles. I have experimented with the size 6 Mustad KVD Elite Series Short Triple Grip on my Vision 110 Jr. and seem to have eliminated issues with them bending out. I don't have any big enough for my Pointer Minnow and planning to buy some soon. Looking for other tried and true suggestions. Note: I usually throw a feathered treble on the back. It seems to help entice these clear water fish.
  13. Building my first MHX Mag Bass and wondering if anyone has had experience with these blanks yet? I'm not doing the traditional kit with Winn Grips. Going with CRB two-tone split grip handle kit, and FUJU FMGK Micro casting guide set. Planning on this being my go-to frog/flipping rod. I will post pics upon completion.
  14. Correct, it's very simple to disable at any time. You just click a button on the app. You can get them for your smartphone as well.
  15. I could walk you through it, but it's pretty simple. You find a VPN client you like (I use Express VPN,) pay them, download their software, then choose the City of the server you want to connect to. Your browser and other websites will think you are in that city. Keep in mind, the further away you are from that city, generally, the slower your connection will be.
  16. Wanting to wish good luck and a safe day on the water to everyone at the Nation Championships today. Rooting for my Montana boys to bring home the W though!
  17. Beautiful fish! Congrats!
  18. Get a VPN and Directv now or Sling. They don't detect programs like that yet and you can stream all US TV if you so choose.
  19. Got out on Saturday to one of my favorite local ponds. It had been cold and raining constantly for the previous couple of days. Took the water temp which showed 46 degrees. Overcast and intermittent rain showers with a slight breeze. Did not think I was going to catch anything. Started with my Vision 110 Jr casting laterally and working it slowly along weed lines that transition to deeper water. Saw nothing and got no bites. Moved down the shore to a flat with depths between 4-6 feet and decided to throw out my swimbait (Biwaa S Trout.) After about 10 casts, I had an 11 inch Largemouth absolutely smash it around 10 feet from the shoreline. Caught 2 more this way and lost another before finally having to leave. Fished a slough down river of this pond and stuck a small hammer handle on the Vision 110 Jr. All in all one of the better November days I've ever had!
  20. I've seen some cool videos of guys doing it up in Manitoba bay. It looks like a blast!
  21. Do you fish for them through the ice? Thinking about hunting some brown fish on hard water this winter.
  22. More for me then!
  23. Jerkbaits, and then more jerkbaits. I'll try and figure out where the biggest depth changes/contours are if possible, and start with gentle single rips and long pauses. I tend to still catch a fish on drop shot as well in those temps if I know where the fish are.
  24. Lews has always been known to have higher quality budget reels than most. Fished with some of my buddy's and was pretty impressed. I think he had the Laser Speed Spool. I've heard good rumblings about Pfluegers new President series baitcaster.......only they don't make left handed models. A huge bummer as I am a die hard Pflueger fan. I have blood feud with cheap Abu reels. Never again.....
  25. Meh, If you're fishing with any hard baits, a steel leader is much less important and usually hurts the action of most lures. I just use some heavier flouro or mono (17-20 pound test is good.) However, when I'm fishing for them with soft plastics, or jigs, I'll definitely use a micro wire leader crimped on a swivel. You don't need to drive to Eastern Montana for good Pike. I catch them out of the Clark Fork about 2 miles from my house in Missoula.
