  1. I made this while bored at work and thought it might be a fun activity for bass clubs/youth clubs and meetings. https://jeopardylabs.com/play/so-you-think-you-can-bass Let me know what you think!
  2. B.A.S.S. Claims today might be the day!
  3. I'll definitely be in again. I thought for a while I had a decent chance to win it all in the previous season. Ended up finishing top 300 overall after a bad last 2 events. Anyone here win any of the groups?
  4. You must not follow the Steelhead scene much. Most of those guys fish 9+ foot rods designed to cast clear across the Clearwater River. I have helped my friend who is a rod builder test his rods and we've exceeded 100 yards casting a 2 ounce weight in the schoolyard behind his place. Euro carp fisherman are also known for casting weights/baits 150-200 yards.
  5. I've also been told by friends/associates that they have wood decks, which has contributed to lots of quality issues. If they've moved away from that, I wouldn't have a problem with a tracker as a good starter boat for the price. Hopefully they've solved the rod locker length conundrum as well.
  6. I think Aaron is too snake bitten with classics, and the fact that they have moved them to Spring likely decreases his chances, as it opens up the fishing opportunities for less finessy fisherman. This is coming from a huge fan of his. He's easily one of my favorite pros.
  7. In the winter I fish with my hunting gloves, I don't mind my finger tips getting frozen as the rest of my hands stay nice and warm. The mitten pop-tops have magnets that hold them open so they don't get in the way while casting/reeling.
  8. Cabela's Fisherman Series Go-To Diamond Stick. These things are a dynamite drop shot and shakey-head worm! I think BPS has a pretty similar bait to this, but I have yet to try it.
  9. I get this when I search for it.
  10. I'm looking to get some better raingear once the holiday sales kick in, and I'm super prone to Huk as I already own several jackets, shirts, and gaiters, and absolutely love them. I noticed on their website that I cannot find any of their rain gear listed there. Does anyone know if they discontinued that line? Or perhaps are just in between generations? I still see some of it on TW, but not the heavy duty Kryptek stuff they used to sell.
  11. Your state fisheries website might have a lake/pond section that includes topos. I found mine this year and it had topo maps of surprisingly small bodies of water. For example
  12. We have a warm springs that stays around a comfy 60 degrees all year around and happens to have a small school of resident bass in it. We'll go there when even the rivers are full of ice chunks and unfishable to get our fix.
  13. "Love Affair" I caught more fish on top water this year, than I have the last 2-3 years combined. I now have a love affair with the Whopper Plopper.
  14. I used to (might still) have a Pinnacle Deadbolt that was given to me by my dad. For a cheap reel, that thing had a butter smooth drag and casted baits a country mile. I've heard that their higher end reels were garbage towards the end.
  15. Decided not to fish a tournament this year, but fished from the bank during our summer team tourney. Caught what would have been a 21 pound bag with a chatterbait in 2 hours. It would have been the 2nd heaviest bag of the entire tournament. Couldn't manage a fish over 5 this year or last year, but I had a couple that were knocking on that door.
  16. Those rigs look Primo! But out of my price range
  17. Mid March. Bassmaster shows the 15th through the 17th. I'l be there a little early and will stay possibly a couple days after that.
  18. Agreed! I plan on doing some serious fishing while there. Do you have any experience on any of the smaller rivers/creeks for smallmouth?
  19. I like the design of the transom on those Excels. I'll have to look into those and Havoc, as this is the first I've heard of them.
  20. Would you/do you feel comfortable fishing tourney's in your Renegade?
  21. 2016 Lowe Stinger 178 $18,995 2016 Lowe Stinger 175 $13,995 2018 Triton TX17 $15,899 Haven't found any used Lunds or Rangers in the price point as of yet. I'm also fond of both Xpress and Crestliner's bass series, but they seem spendy from what I've seen so far.
  22. Going to be in the market for my first bass boat here soon. I will plan to fish regular tournaments on whichever rig I get, and I'll also need a small enough boat that my V6 Honda Pilot can pull it I know I'm going with a 17-18' Aluminum bass boat, and I really like these boats from my research so far (in order, from favorite to least.) Lowe Stinger 178 Triton TX17 Lund 1775 Renegade SS Ranger RT178 Would probably be looking at used boats with lower hour engines to drop the price a little so I can put more money towards peripherals and accessories on it. Thoughts/suggestions?
  23. Wondering if anyone here is already planning a Bass Resource meet up at the 2019 Classic in Knoxville? If not, we should arrange a time/place. This will be my first Classic experience and I would love to meet some of you in person that have inspired/improved my fishing since I joined this awesome forum several years ago. Let me know!
  24. Went out on Saturday again since I already filled my deer tag, and taking a week off before going after my elk. It was 29 degrees outside and snowing. Water temp was in the low 40s around the entire pond. So you can imagine how suprised I was when I found big females feeding up in 1 foot of water and aggressively taking my jerkbait. Also ended up with this bonus rainbow Quite possibly one of the best Novembers I've ever had fishing.
  25. The spot I fish has lot's of submerged structure. So in an effort to not lose a $15-20 jerkbait on every fish, I like to try and burn em in so they can't dive down and hang up in cover.
