  1. I have a 7'3 mh micro magic paired with an exo 100hpt and it is crazy light and sensitive. I use it as my jig and plastics rod and it does the job extremely well.
  2. Yeah they do! I have one and plan on having a couple more in the near future. They are very light and sensitive, I just wish they were full grip with a acs reel seat, then they would be perfect haha Some people claim they break easy, but mine has held up to some pretty hard hook sets so far.
  3. I have never fished a serrano, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another tatula. Just get your hands on both of them and see which one you like better, the size of the tatula throws some people off.
  4. It really depends on what's most comfortable to you. I like a 7'3 for when I'm on a boat or in a wide open space, I feel like it gives me a little more leverage, line pick up and casting distance. But whenever I am fishing from a bank with alot of trees or bushes, I have a 6'10 rod I will use so that I have less chance of snagging a limb in the middle of a cast. If you think a regular backlash is bad, wait till your lure catches something behind you in the middle of a full force cast haha
  5. Congrats! The way things are going you will be catching another pb soon haha just keep on wearing that heels shirt!
  6. I have this exact rod and love it. I found it for $120 on the auction site, and they still have them. As far as a reel goes, I would pair it with a lews tournament pro. I would recommend a tatula for this rod but I feel it's a little heavy to put on such a light rod. I have a quantum exo on mine and it is perfectly balanced and super light. When I had the tatula mounted on my micro magic, it felt like the extra weight of the reel took away some of the sensitivity.
  7. From what I understand the only differences are the type r has a ported frame, gear ratio, and bearings in the levelwind. And the hd is just a heavy duty version with more line capacity
  8. I would chose a tatula over any sub $200 lews any day, even if the tatula was at full retail price. I have a lews tournament pro and a tournament mg, and have owned a regular speed spool and lazer speed spool. They are nice reels, but the tatula just feels so much better to me.
  9. I really don't think you will be disappointed!
  10. My vote goes to the tatula, I would chose my tatula over my lews tournament pro. I just like how solid and smooth the tatula is, and it will out cast my tournament pro. Alot of people are turned away by the tatulas size, but to me it palms perfect
  11. I saw a male and a pretty big female on a bed last weekend, but they were not locked on yet. After a couple casts the female spotted me and took off, I didnt see her back there the rest of the day
  12. I spotted a male and a big olé female on a bed last weekend, but no luck in catching them. They were not locked on it yet but they were getting ready. That's the only one I have seen so far, won't be long!
  13. I bought a brand new quantum exo (retail $249) for $75 a while back, that was my best deal
  14. I think mine was on a 1/2 oz chatterbait. If it wasn't that it was a jerkbait
  15. I use it just like I do a spinnerbait, just a little slower most of the time.
  16. Welcome from wilmington nc! Go heels!!! Hahahaha
  17. I have a tatula and a lews tp, and I really like the tatula better. The lews is a very nice reel, but there's just something about that tatula that I love. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of a couple reels so I can replace them with tatulas. I have bought reels from all the big manufacturers now and so far my top 3 are daiwa, lews, and quantum in that order.

I have done this with ribbontails, one day i got tired of my worm nose diving on slack line (texas rigged) and wanted it to fall slower and horizontal so i tried a 3/16 oz swimbait hook and it worked great. I havent tried it with any other baits yet though
  19. Exactly! In clear water like that, most of the time if you can see a fish it can see you too. Try casting out a dropshot and working it back to you, I do this alot with a shiner colored fluke and it works great.
  20. It's all good man, thanks for trying! It's alot better than what I found haha
  21. Yeah its close, but on mine the front hook is farther back and it has a more detailed mold. Plus mine has rattles and the ones in the link are silent
  22. Good find, I just tried again and came up empty handed, must be a knock off or something. I got it in a crankbait lot on the auction site the had evergreen combat cranks and some damiki dc- 100's & dc-200's. It looks good though and has a nice wieght transfer system, hopefully it will catch some fish
  23. Yes sir! Nothing but the best
  24. That rod looks awesome! If I made a rod that looked like that I would want to keep it too haha
