1. I fish a jig SPECIFICALLY for big fish. 2. I fish a texas rig for bites, although I catch big fish on them as well. It's also easier to fish a texas rig in really heavy cover, so I usually opt for them when I can almost guarantee I'll get my jig hung up.

I really want to get a Curado or the new Citica series, because I've heard so much about them. I love my Lew's Tournament Mg, it's been a great performer, but there are a couple things I don't like about it. One of them being the knobs.

Although I haven't been using the forums for years and years, I have really come to appreciate the new update. Lots of little things have been fixed that you might not notice right away, and combined they make for a much easier experience.

Any shade of jig that's not on a extreme side of the color spectrum (black/blue or white) gets a Green Pumpkin trailer in my book. I like to keep it simple with jig colors.

I personally am not a fan of BPS hard baits at all.

I'm pretty sure Bass Pro Shops has no affiliation with Lews. I heard that Lew Childre used to work for Johnny Morris and had a strong disagreement, and that's why Bass Pro doesn't carry Lew's reels. For instance, if you try searching "lews" on basspro, there's no results and it comes up as "lewis" lol.

@MickD: I don't deny that there are times when bass will bite other colors better, but I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to find bass that won't bite those two colors. And yes, I love color patterns as well. It's easy to get sucked into them if you're a beginner though.

I also love the fact that you can now see where topics have been moved. Thanks guys for all your hard work getting the update and now fixing glitches. Really appreciate the effort.

I decided to do some browsing before I gave an opinion, so now after about 30 minutes of doing so, here are my thoughts. Overall: LOVE IT! Love the instant notifications, love the ease of posting pictures, love the overall fresh look. The only con I have is that a lot of the previously posted pics are gone. Look at the "Show off your stuff" thread, for example. It may just be me but a lot of the pics on there aren't showing.

From what I've heard, Spike It just dyes the outside of the bait, while JJ's is much stronger and actually dies the entirety of the plastic. I haven't used JJ's yet though so I can't tell you from first hand experience.

Don't get too sucked into jig colors. Sure, I like fancy colors as much as the next but 90% of the time, Green Pumpkin and Black/Blue will get the job done for you.
