  1. Yep. I'm a little behind but catching up rapidly. I'm really good at science and have an A average, but I don't care for learning something that in depth.
  2. Yep I go to school. Right now, I'm learning the digestive, reproductive, respirative, circulatory, and nervous systems of a crayfish, not to mention the fact that I'm dissecting one today. Don't you *** me?
  3. LOL. I just remembered this from a bassing book. Can't find the book, so I'm trying to quote to the best of my ability. "My mind is on one track: fishing. I can usually keep myself from getting embarrassed, but sometimes, it gets me in trouble. My wife will ask me, "Did you hear what happened at the kid's school today?" I'll answer, "Yeah, they're moving up shallower and are a lot easier to catch." But sometimes, she'll get me back. I'll ask her what we're having for supper tonight, and she'll reply, "A purple worm in those treetops would be killer!"
  4. Looked like a hybrid crappie to me but I'll trust the florida guys . Nice ID, joedodge.
  5. Yes, they work. Why wouldn't they? You can fish it more aggressively.
  6. Good stuff! That would be an awesome job in some ways. I know big companies aren't all that fun to work for, but just being able to wok for a fishing-related place is fantastic.
  7. Honestly the most important thing (or so I've heard) is being able to sell yourself to potential companies (not in a bad way ). If a business degree will help that cause, and I think we're agreed that it will, then by all means go for it. College is a good idea for most professions, and certainly not a bad experience in and of itself. Plus, you can get on a collegiate team if you're good enough.
  8. So I had a job yesterday laying down mulch in someone's backyard. Trip after trip with wheelbarrows up a hill . They had a big pool in their backyard. Seemingly every nightcrawler, lizard, and frog from miles around had crawled into that thing. There were hundreds of small squirmy things in the bottom of the pool. So, what am I trying to imitate? Worms: were quite short, and they looked just plain old black on the bottom. Just like a 4-inch finesse worm, a lot (In particular) like a Roboworm. Just sorta squirmed on the bottom. Lizards: were what interested me. They were just like a worm, but with four little legs sticking off the side. Didn't look that much like the lizards I throw. They inched along on the bottom, did not go fast at all. Frogs: Would sit on top until someone came near, then would dive down to the bottom. Now obviously, there are multiple species of worms and lizards, and this was a pool, not a lake or a pond. But I imagine the same things happen underwater where we fish. Just something to help me match the hatch. People ask why bass eat plastic worms, I'd never seen a worm on the bottom of my pond before. But now I'm quite convinced that water is a magnet to small creatures.
  9. Sorry about it posing four times, my internet is acting up and the topic just sat there loading for five minutes and must have posted multiple times.
  10. Congratulations to Andrew Smith of Toledo, Ohio! You won the tackle giveaway! On the plus side, I know that one of my guesses was the correct one, 2 pounds and 14 ounces. At least it wasn't a trick fish .
  11. Same here with my watch. Plus my skin underneath is white from never seeing the sun, so it sticks out. I am rarely ever without my watch.
  12. Jigs work 24/7, all year round. Summer mornings are no exception.
  13. Yup, I agree. It takes dedication to keep a thread going. This one won't die if I have anything to do with it.
  14. I would honestly much rather watch Youtube. Half the TV shows post clips on there anyway, and the commercials are limited to 30 seconds max, often less. Plus, way more variety with fishing.
  15. I guess I'm thinking of my ponds. Honestly, though, trying to locate bass by bluegill is just about the same as locating bluegill by bass.
  16. 3/8s oz, chartreuse/white. Double Willow blades. That'll help you gain confidence and you can go from there. Or, a small 1//8 oz. with a Colorado will crush them as well on lighter tackle.
  17. Lol sounds pretty normal to me, minus the straw hat. At least he was wearing a shirt!
  18. Okay, I wasn't sure if it was a rotary phone or a typewriter. Thanks for clarifying .
  19. I had a very hard time as well until I saw that video. Just pause it and work along with him. Good luck!
  20. Nice job Kevin. Bed fish are a lot of fun and a test of your patience as well .
