  1. I would say I throw soft plastics and jigs 90% of the time.
  2. I am looking to purchase a used bass boat in the early spring. What I am trying to figure out is if my current truck will be plenty for it. I am looking to purchase a 18'-19' boat with probably a max of a 175 hp motor. What I have for a truck is a 1998 Chevy Silverado Z71 extended cab with a 350 under the hood. My truck also has a transmission cooler installed. Should I be alright pulling that boat with this truck?
  3. What about seeing if you could just get oil changes and tire rotations?
  4. There are lots of ways I cook my bass. Here is a list; forget anniversary, forget birthday, forget some other "important holiday or event", not listen to well and list list goes on. Whoops you said "cook my bass", I guess I misread that ;D
  5. I have never even thought about it. Maybe it is because I like in Michigan and I have never broken the 6 pound mark for largemouth or smallmouth.
  6. hmm....well I have a brush, but I am short on elbow greese. Do you think you could spare some? ;D
  7. I have a 12' flat bottom jon boat. It is a montegomery wards from the 1970's and it is in good shape just doesnt look pretty. It looks extremely dirty. I would like to clean it up a little bit and maybe build a platform in it. I have looked at many of the posts on here of custom jon boats and decided I would under take the task. First thing is what can I use to clean up the aluminum? I will post some pictures later in the week.
  8. I'm with Falcon. $5000 on fuel for the truck and boat would be great. That would be lots of on the water time.
  9. Sweet!!! I only have one question. Who stole his boat motor?
  10. If it hurts then why do they fight? Wouldnt they just follow the bait in taking the pressure off of themselves? When your mother pulled on your ear did you go with her or go the other way? When someone pulls your hair do you follow quickly or surge in the other direction?
  11. Is it better to set the hook on no fish or is it better to not set the hook and miss the fish?
  12. Hey LBH, I have been waiting for you to chime in on this post. Are you trying to avoid it or what?
  13. my reply to getting ask how the fishing is or how many I caught is always "just a couple" , "not many" or "nothing really" I always say it like I am disappointed too. I dont like to give away my spots or secrets. I dont mind telling someone how to use a bait.
  14. I am comtemplating buying a new boat after the 1st of the year. Is there a site to look up the values of used boats/motors? Similar to the Kelly Blue Book or NADA book for trucks. Thanks in advance.
  15. do you know the boater? Is he going to "front end" you? I have fished as a non-boater only in tourney's. If I know the guy I am fishing with well enough I can usually sneak my was up beside him (20+ foot boat) and fish too.
  16. I would have learned to walk on water real quick.
  17. flippin4it, I have had the same problem. I just bounced my jig off the side of thier boat and they left.
  18. good question...I am in the mid-michigan area too
  19. I would definatly go weightless with my soft plactics. Have you tried a rubber mouse or rat? What about one of those horny toads everyone is raving about?
  20. I take 'em however I can get them. Wadin, from the bank, flat bottom jon boat, bass boat, just as long as I am fishin
  21. I am looking to purchase a small tiller outboard (5-8hp) for my 12 foot flat bottom river runner. Does anyone have any tips or things I should look for when looking at a motor. I know I want a short shaft and weight is a factor as I dont have a trailer for this boat. Thanks in advance.
  22. I talk when I fish and I talk a lot. Especially when fishing with friends. It distracts them ;)and I can then outfish them easier ;D.
  23. when do we leave? ;D
  24. If I go out the minimum is usually 3 hours. But if all I have time for is a quick close trip then that is what I take. Cant catch fish at home...only on the water.
