HELP kastking bird nest UP DATE
I have a Stealth. It's not a forgiving reel. I have all 4 brakes engaged and the mags on 9 most of the time. I don't agree with people when they say it's a good beginner reel. It will bomb baits when you get it dialed in and master it though.

What's the lightest casting reel I can find for $100?
This one is my pick. 5.8oz
-
Smaller casting reels?
I thought the same exact thing! My 8yr old uses a Zebco "under" cast. Less line problems I have to deal with.

Fluoro Faults
Heck I get away with the 10# Yo-Zuri even throwing 1/2oz spinnerbaits and square bills. I think it failed me once last year.

Problem with a lews reel
Check the worm gear for grooves. Does it go from rough to smooth every couple turns?

Took the boy fishing
That's awesome! I gotta take mine out soon...maybe this weekend. He loves his senkos!

Reel cleaning. What do you use?
Soak em in simple green for awhile and hit it with a toothbrush.

Revo ALX or Curado 70
I just looked at an ALX in the store. It's sooo darn tiny it's ridiculous. I used to think Lews LFS were small. Either would be a good choice.

Senko replacement
Have you all tried the Pocket Rockets from Reaction Inno.? Found em on clearance at Academy and caught quite a few bass on just one on Sunday. They are heavy almost a 1/2oz.

Senko replacement
I'm with you on the stick-o's. I've got a few friends that were hooked on the Yamamotos switch to the Stick-o's. Half the cost and are more durable.

Senko replacement
I guess I call all of those stick baits a "senko". I like the BPS brand. They seem to be just a bit heavier than the other brands and a lot cheaper. The soft Yamas rip up way too easy imo.

Problem with Pro Max 2 brake knob
I'd swap it out for another. It's not worth the hassle.

Thanks for all the responses.

Reel Tech question
I guess the clutch bar would just be the thumbar. Yes, the plastic pieces between the bar and the frame. Thanks, hopefully I won't have to bother you. The thumbar is a bit hard to engage. Hopefully polishing the pawl and cam will help with that? I think that's what they are called.

Time to reline the rigs
I usually fish my fluoro for a couple seasons, but I don't probably fish as much as most of you.

Reel Tech question
I'm looking to replace the entire clutch bar assembly including the cam & return pawl with springs on a Carbonlite/PQ reel. How are clutch bar plates attached? I was told they just snap in by BPS Outdoor World.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Any of you Illinois guys fish Pyramid State Park? That's about all I fish tons of lakes to choose from. I would love to hear where some of you fish there.

Increasing Casting Distance
Do they make a quiet braid yet? That's what I couldn't deal with.

Increasing Casting Distance
Yes, but stay away from that braid garbage
