  1. Kastking Zephyr if you are on a budget $60.
  2. I have one myself, it’s decent well worth the $. I haven’t tried going below 1/8th myself. I don’t really have the proper rod matched up with it to do much.
  3. I get it. I don’t go around with a scale in the store, but I will check the balance point on rods. The rod can weigh 3.5oz but if it’s too tip heavy I’m putting it back. I’m a fruitcake with this. The Quantum Smokes are very light and their power ratings are understated.
  4. 5” senko as long as we are able to add weight when needed
  5. I don’t feel the need to spend more than 120-140 just being a “fun” fisherman. If one has made it his profession then the top of gear would make sense & benefit you. And I don’t know what everyone’s talking about with frame twist. Most of mine are carbon reels and I’ve never had this issue. Of course I’m not fishing 65# braid down in FL. I got plenty of bps prolites & carbonlites from 2008 or so that still work perfect. They get broke down and maintained each Winter. Also, I 2nd the Okuma Ceymar. Mine is a beast better than any Shimano I’ve owned in the price range.
  6. Here’s a 4.8oz from China for about $50, but you would never know. Smooth as butter after I went thru it and polished everything. I like the cheap sh$$! I removed the labeling on the brake side.
  7. You could get away with 10# Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft if you like the Yo-Zuri.
  8. That could be the most bada** looking setup I’ve seen!
  9. I would go with the slowest available. I like ratios in the 5s for cranking and big spinnerbaits. IMO anything over 6’s makes it feel like the reel is working too hard. The 6.8:1 would work for everything just fine.
  10. I have always wanted to try Siege just never have. Does it compare a lot to XL?
  11. Agree with this^ or even research the Kastking Crixus for low $40s
  12. Francho was correct about assuming. My bad
  13. I assume he’s talking about posts from 2016. Time to move on.
  14. I assume that I’m the sincere member.
  15. I’m an newbie to the BFS world. This is a PW100 and was $55 and weighs 4.8oz. I can bomb this 1/8th crank a good 30yds on 10# fluoro with ease. I’m sure if I went down to 6# line it would handle a 1/16oz. I really just bought it to fish 1/10 - 1/8oz Ned rigs. It’s just a cheap alternative if you are also a newbie.
  16. I agree I noticed the same thing and ordered a carbon handle right after I got it. The first thing I do after buying a reel is break it down and flush bearings and relube everything and polish up the internals. It does have a couple flaws, but it’s cheap.
  17. Decided to try my first BFS reel. It’s more for light plastics 8# test down to 1/8oz. The light spool is definitely something to get used to it’s super fast. I gave $48 for the reel on sale just can’t beat the price.
  18. This would be an upgrade and still cheap. I have an Arid X and I feel the blank is dead. These are much more crisp, lighter..plenty good for the fun fishing weekend warrior.
  19. I had a question on a replacement spool for a Kastking Royale Legend Elite. Does anyone know if any company makes a spool that would fit this reel? I bent the spool shaft trying to remove the pin. Kastking does not sell replacement parts unfortunately. Thanks.
  20. The Aird I got for 39.99 just as a backup and was on sale. It’s a MH and the power is overrated. It’s well worth it, but the blank feels pretty dead like any $50 rod. I wouldn’t expect too much.
  21. What's that kayak weigh? I bet that's a blast to fish and you can carry in anywhere.
  22. I agree. A hunter green would have worked out.
  23. Best line for the $ imo. Good in 10# and 12# that I've tried.
