  1. I just got the new micro magic and I see the improvements ... But I think I'll try a white ice for a swimbait rod this summer
  2. I know there are some in va but that's about an three hour drive ...
  3. Lol I fished all year til it snowed here in va today .. Sucks being a Florida boy in Miami to this .. I'm used to donkey sized king mackerel when it's too "cold" to bash fish cause its 55 in Miami lol
  4. People don't search around here lol
  5. I have come to love the hunt of fishing with a big swimbait .. From hudds to black dog baits to ms slammers ... In va I caught fish in all of them last year ... One recently moved from Florida where almost all my bass fishing was done from land.... I've never caught a fish in a big swimbait from a boat .. Anywhere ... So my question is do others share that issue .. Have a preference ? Or tips for catching fish from land or boat with big swimbaits . In Florida bass fishing was just a Pass time to me and the dry tortugas was my haven ...
  6. Black dog baits g2 shell cracker changed my life last summer lol .... And the Booyah boo jig ... Aside from that I suppose various other big swimbaits
  7. I have every curado since d ... And I like this new one a lot but not as much as my e series ... But it's is very refined etcn throws baits nicely ... I'm going to get another one .. Because the one I have I use for jigs.. It is light but very sturdy ... Even more so than an e series ..

Zoom trailers for me .. Or rage .. That's about it .. Sometimes I'll use a small skinny dipper
  9. Lol great post although I doubt it will stop the onslaught of newbie questions
  10. I've been fishing winter Ponds and Id really say much of the same ... I've caught fish from dec to today on deep cranks mostly .. But my son throws them on his sahara 3000 he just got for Christmas on Med heavy rod and does fine .. Also jigs have done well for me and shakey heads ... I have only caught one winter fish on a jerkbaits .. Deep and slow in the right colors will do it for U .. Stay warm and stay out there
  11. I have curado's on all the setups you speak of in various form and it goes like this in my garage Fluro jig rod ... 7-10 Ducket micro magic pro 16lb sun-line curado ihg Braid jig rod ... 7-6 duckett ghost 30lb fx2 sun-line curado 200e7 Crankbait rod ... 7-6 ducket micro crank 12lb big game Curado 200dpv Braid crankbait rod (square bills/summer) 7ft ducket micro crank 20lb power pro slick timber Curado ihg
  12. I like sunline ... But I only use Fluro for cold water fishing and a big rod with it and one with braid ... And that's only been since 2015 ... Mans I haven't caught a jig fish in the Fluro yet but I have caught plenty on it on spinning rods.. Id always use braid for spinner bait
  13. I'm going to get more rage products and see if this is a fad or a bag
  14. Reminds me of the old flying lure
  15. In Florida (where I grew up) i fish really big lures or really small ones mostly lol
  16. I own the dpv (5.1) and dhsv 7.1 models ... And like them both .. They have to me most of the good features of new tackle technology and the good of the old technology ... I use them for my smaller swimbait reel and for top waters etc .. Smooth .. Strong .. Solid aluminum ... Just a little less smooth than one my e series or even the i series ... I'm kinda a curado ***** ... u can buy them for a good price .. If U want a small ree or have small hands don't get it ...
  17. Thank you
  18. Saw the film and thought it was good not great ... Depends on what you like ... This is more like hurt locker and less like medal of valor ... Being that I trained for buds and didn't make it SEALS have a special place either way with me
  19. I like the show a lot .. I agree Id prefer the rules but with the same five bass limit ... However I do appreciate the fact that a bunch of mid sized fish can win you a tournament ... I fished a lot of tournaments and left with less money for the same reason ... I've been watching from the beginning extended cast and im up to the Florida lake in the 3rd event ... I do learn from them at least and they explain more .. Some of it comes because the cameras are always on that little things come out and I like that as well ... To me its like what ufc is to boxing somewhat ...
  20. But I like what I've been seeing from ishs frog and im going to buy two of them in my regular colors since I only fish three colors of frog
  21. Hollow body: I like live target Soft body : lake fork frogs or the zoom horny toad Hard: I don't use hard frogs .. I believe if that action is what they want a better bait can be used to achieve it imo
  22. I only do it on my saltwater reels ... Braid last long enough for me that I don't feel the price of it unless in buying it at the moment lol .. I also take braid off spools and spool them on other reels I don't use ... Like I have a huge penn spinner with three different power pro sizes on it .. One being the frog line I use so since it's winter the same reel gets mono and a diff rod and does jerkbait work
  23. Try getting further away from the fish ... What kind of clothes are you wearing ?
  24. !Why do I but expensive swimbaits .. Because big fish are expensive
