  1. 2 votes against Beat Shad. Darn, must be a lousy bait.
  2. What is it that you did not like about the Beat Shad? How would it compare to a normal (non-fat ) Swing Impact?
  3. Nice. I plan on using 15 pound Sniper with a 7'1" MH/Fast for bottom contact. We shall see how it goes.
  4. Is that 10+3 Synonym to Prophecy a fast or extra fast action?
  5. Merry Christmas! I am sitting here looking at the TW 25 days of Christmas sale (got a couple of gift cards to spend ) and am seeing that all Berkley softbaits are heavily discounted. I have been interested in trying the Keitech Swing Impacts, but they are more expensive and I have heard that they are not very durable. While you obviously can not put a price on what catches fish, I do have a budget, and enjoy to get more value for my dollar. I am not asking if one is better than the other, but what I am wondering is what the differences there are between the Berkley Havoc Beat Shad, the Berkley Powerbait Rib Shads, and the Keitech Swing Impact and Impact Fats? Has anyone used both? Any help is appreciated. I would be fishing these primarily on a 1/8 to 5/16 ounce swimbait head with an open hook.
  6. Happy Holidays Boys, including those of ya who already celebrated Hanukah!
  7. I see. Nice catch. Do you do custom color combos? Just curious.
  8. Big Head Wobbler?
  9. Any interest in selling lol???
  10. I've used the search tool and bookmarked every page about bladed jigs and plan to continue doing some reading about bladed jigs now that I have some time off of school. I was wondering what you're personal favorite bladed jigs were? I may be seeing if I can get some from @Bluebasser86 if it snows around here and I can get some extra cash shoveling snow! I just wanted to try a few different types and see which work best for me. Also, what are thoughts on the V&M Lightning Blade, since they are currently on sale?
  11. I'm just curious as to if they're is a whole heck of a lot of difference in the JDM and the USDM reel besides a couple of bearings. I mean, I don't really know about JDM reels, never really had considerable enough budget for them. Is there a big difference?
  12. Well then, if it only takes a few days then I recant. Now on to price, how much more is it?
  13. Wouldn't one say that it "traps heat" rather than necessarily "heating up faster?"
  14. The site looks fresher, and is more user friendly... But people continue to complain about the update?
  15. Both of them are some of my least used techniques, I just do so well on reaction baits I have yet to really reach for either. Here is a good interview with Greg Hackney though on how to pick which one. http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/hackney-jigs-and-texas-rigs
  16. How much will it cost you to get it. Right now you can get a brand new Curado 200i for 119, so it may not be worth all the hassle to get basically a red Curado from Japan.
  17. Would these be the same as the SK Slither Rig? Sorry if that's a stupid question. I don't really fish with that type of bait for quick flips and pitches.
  18. If you are fishing around grass and pads, then a frog would be an essential tool. Fish it up in all the grass and pads. When fishing these ponds, they are usually pretty devoid of any real meaningful cover or structure, then paralleling the bank is a must as well.
  19. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Here is to making 2016 the year of the adventure.
  20. I held some in my hand. They had a good selection of them at the Walmart on Kentucky Ave. (BTW for all Central Indy guys, this is the best Wally World in the state. Well stocked, clean with correct labeling, and good deals to boot) and for the price, I thought they felt really good. They sport pretty nice blanks and handles, but pretty standard powers and actions, which is to be expected at their price point. I would not hesitate to pick one up though at that price.
  21. This is true. Light penetration is just the length of the physical wave, not what we see. Also, a shameless plug for my physics thread.
  22. Interesting. Thanks for letting me know.
  23. Sure does look interesting. Maybe its sun spots?
