  1. I'm sorry to hear about your loss. That is a very thoughtful gift from your wife. I hope that your rebuilds go well.
  2. Recycle!
  3. If that were me I would put that $125 (essentially) free (to you) dollars and put it towards some spinnng equipment because you are looking to get one. When I get gift cards I usually put them towards something expensive I've wanted for a long time.
  4. Hope everyone enjoys a safe New Year. Hopefully we will be able to ride our "sleighs" right into next Christmas!
  5. How do you like to fish? And what kind of setups are you running?
  6. As for the Culprit's, my dad has a few packs dating back to the 80's as well. Along with some of those Jimmy Houston sponsored split tail spinnerbait trailers but I couldn't remember who makes em... Thanks! I will probably be giving that one from your play book a good shot, it sounds like it would be something I could fish succesfully without having to acquire a bunch of extra expensive equipment.
  7. Do you use the Brass weight for noise?
  8. Patience? Do we at BassResource have it, ask some members. Clearly, we do not
  9. What I can say is I have fished a lot of different ones, and they are probably the favorite lure in my tackle box. I can't nail down a favorite though. My box is overflowing and I like em all!
  10. I like a lot of colors but my favorites are Tennessee Shad and Royale (purple shad color). I stick to semi offbeat colors because I figure they've seen a lot of chrome blue back and so I switch it up a little. I think as long as it matches somewhat whatever they are eating you should be fine. I think the action of a lipless bait is why they get bit, not so much the color.
  11. Right, it would allow them to monopolize on a market that at this point is already a conglomerate bordering on monopolistic competition due to the differentiation in fishing products. My reference was to the fact that Cabela's has had to drive sale pricing in order to get consumers to put their foot in the door, which then helps me get good deals!
  12. Of course. What do you think the possibility of the merger being broken up is?
  13. Mostly because Bass Pro is regretting their buying decision, lol! Some of Cabela's earnings reports have showed increased revenues, but decreased profits and their CEO basically admitted that they were giving away the store to get people in he door! Good for us tough!
  14. Old soul I guess. More of a 70's guy though. Zep, and the likes.
  15. "'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, the A/C was running 'cuz we live in the south." But as a northern boy, I don't get that luxury. This year we were in Jax for Christmas but didn't get any fishing time in as I was trying to spend time with the family. Off-season for me usually comes in a November, and looks a little like this: I do train year round, but the meets ramp up when high school season comes around Nov 1. Currently hoping to get a spot on a college team in 2017, and working hard to take another consecutive team sectional title, along with a respectable showing at Conference and State.
  16. Thanks! That is quite a noble goal of @WTnPuddleJumper to want to continue to raise money for them in 2017. Do you usually do sometype of fundraiser for them Puddle Jumper? If so, let me know! Good one
  17. What is it that the Carl Perkins Center does? Just curious.
  18. That's one hefty fish. Good for him. I haven't tuned into this season of Corcuit Breaker but will do. Last season turned me onto Mark Daniels Jr. whom I like very much. I just wish they released episodes more often/on a more regular basis. They seem sporadic and can sometimes be awhile after the tournament they filmed them for is over.
  19. Cleaned house pretty good!
  20. The closest one to my home is 3 hours in Evansville but we stayed down in Jax for the holidays so I guess I got kind of lucky! But Loyd of goodies for Christmas this year lol! Hopefully they keep branching out. It was night and day comparative to DSG. The selection of Rods and generally everything else was much better and the prices were really good, on everything, including apparel! Don't think I could go back into DSG again!
  21. Academy Sports is having an after Christmas clearance, and the prices are good if you can find them! I got all 9 baits and this Yeti T for $50 after Tax! Definitely worth checking out!!!
  22. Still could use a little work, but you are right, they certainly have improved in that spot. Lol enough with the off topic though. I got a few fishing lures and a really nice LA Police Gear for my truck. I also got a Rapala Digital scale, which will Bernice to finally have a good weight estimate! I also took some gift cards and cleaned house at the Academy in Orange Park, Florida. They were having a clearance and I got 9 baits, including a Booyah One Knocker, Spro Bronzeye Shad, Live Target Sunfish, Bagley B1, Storm Arashi, Rat-L-Trap, Xcalibur XR50, and a H2O Express CRM, for 33.90 after tax.
  23. Won't be wearing it too much here soon will ya . The Colts need to figure it out lol
  24. Welcome! Try and stumble on over to the Hoosiers thread in the Eastern Fishing subforum to meet some of your fellow members from around the state!
  25. Welcome aboard! We've already brushed paths in the Hoosier thread and I love to see another Hoosier on the boards!
