Tokushima Spinning Reel - Improved Technology
That's a lot! I heard once that it is more important to have more bearings in a spinning vs casting reel because the way the washers are stacked... Is this true?

The $25,000 Question
Good point.. I'm kind of the opposite. I like to be laid back and relax and fish. That's why this is so appealing to me. I could go out and have adexent time on the land doing whatever.. (Hunting, Fishing, anything outdoorsy) and relax and have a good time with family/friends.

The $25,000 Question

Never Seen A Cabelas Like This
It's only going to be 185,000 square feet.. A little small but better than Gander Mt or Dicks. I will still take a trip to BPS in Clarksville every few months because it is huge and there is a larger Cabela's 10 minutes away. I'll also continue to shop inline and at my local tackle connections, I just wont shop at Dicks or Gander anymore.

Spinning Reel Size?
I've heard this before as well. I've never verified it... But Greg Hackney swears by it, even w/casting reels. But the EXOs are so light anyways that he can get away w/such large reels...

If this is true, corrective management may be in place... If you need to, take out bass 14" and smaller (not all of them, but just some, don't over harvest). Have a fish fry or a shore lunch, they are lots of fun! Also, it will remove small bass that compete with bigger bass for food, allowing those bass to grow larger!

Good Rods For 70-100$?
A few other rods I forgot to mention are the Berkely E-Motion Series of rods for $79 and the Jimmy Houston High Tek Casting Rods Starting at $40 and they go up from there. Compete with rods that are way more expensive.

Spinning Reel Size?
What is your preferred size of spinning reel for bass fishing? 20, 30 or 40?

They may be deeper because of the heat... Lucky you still getting to fish right now! A large silent running crankbait can trick big fish pretty good. Big fish really like to eat jigs for some reason too... That would be a good option, or a big swimbait. If you are going to target big fish you need to be willing to get less bites, and fish baits that will only get bit by big fish. Good luck!

Accidental Catches
I was fishing with a Squarebill Crankbait and had a snapping turtle swipe at it. I thought I had hooked up with a huge bass. But, I must have had sticky sharp hooks because they stuck him good in his bony mouth.

Tackle Question?
Yes, sorting them by categories are a good way to organize. First, make a big category (like plastic worms), then sort that category into two categoreis, light colors and dark colors is how I do it. Take the bags from both categories and put them in quart sized Zip Locs, then put the two quart sized bags into a gallon sized bag. Label the Zip Locs.

Favorite Monfilament & Flurocarbon To Use
What did they change about it? Not to offend, I just was uninformed that they changed it...

Tackle Question?
I use old Flambeua Outdoors infinite divider system boxes. They are really cool because I can put a divider anywhere I want, and I mean ANYWHERE! They don't make them anymore, but Bass Pro Shops makes some that are similar, and I have seen them in store and they look pretty nice... I may pick up a few. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-XPS-Lure-Boxes/product/10203081/

Berkley Flicker Shad Or Strike King Lucky Shad?
That's tire, and i may need to look into a bunch of different baits... I really just want to branch out into these small crankbaits like that.

Favorite Monfilament & Flurocarbon To Use
Trilene XL and Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL . If I'm not using XL mono, then I'm using Stren Original. I've branched out and tried others like Suffix mono, and did not like it as much. Plus as a bonus Stren is made in the good ol US of A! Not so sure about where Trilene is made....

The $25,000 Question
My thoughts exactly... A buddy of mine and I have both thought about this as an option to invest in together... It would take a few years of being a workaholic and taking a break from fishing of course.... But that's life, and I think it might pay off!

The $25,000 Question
Been reading/watching a lot about pond management, and would love to have a chunk of land w/some good hunting areas and a good 5 acre pond, and a small house to put on it... So I thought this would be an interesting thread question... All things be equal (cost wise), which would you rather do, buy a shiny new bass boat or build a private/farm pond? I guess it is somewhat based on how you like to fish... I'd like to have both, but to choose one I'd want to have the pond because I usually just like to be pretty laid back when I fish.. What are your thoughts?

Good Rods For 70-100$?
If you can still get the Carbonlite rods for $69 get one of those.... If not, a Veritas is a good rod, and the old 1.0 model can be found for $50. Berkley Lightning Rods are pretty good for $39 as well, and that will save you some bucks to buy more stuff!! I'd also look into the new Johnny Morris Signature rods, with the new cork grips. They look really nice and super sensitive!

Berkley Flicker Shad Or Strike King Lucky Shad?
Sounds like a plan! Thanks for the help man!

Smithwicks Devil Horse
I don't have a problem with them either. I have a big obnoxious yellow one.. Need to order some more. I really like all of the Smithwick stuff. The new Perfect 10 Rogues are really nice, and come in some pretty cool colors (even holographic finishes )

Cabelas
I bought some on that deal too. They are good baits. The Chartreuse Black Back lure is a killer in dirty water, because they can see it, it's loud, and it will knock into cover, making it even louder and easy for shallow dark water fish to locate.
-
Locating Bass?
Basically... Truly, I generally fish for resident shallow fish that reside shallow year round.

Duckett 320/360 Reels?
All of these would be great reels. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of them. The Tats look sexy, and so do the Quantum's. As a matter of fact so do the Pinnacle's. Buy them all and please the monkey
