  1. I plan on doing a similar exercise with my kayak. I will purposefully flip it over and practice turning it back and getting inside. This has been quite the helpful thread!
  2. I saw another guy using these for plastics. Seemed like a pretty nice box and efficient system.
  3. I fish from the shore, and I use a large, soft tackle box. It holds 4 Plano boxes, and 2 slender spinnerbait boxes. It also has 2 pouches, which I use to carry first aid, snacks & drinks, rain gear, ect. I carry 3 rods with me, so I don't need to retie often. Then, in my basement, I have a large rack w/4 shelves dedicated to tackle storage. It has my dad and I's boxes, extra Plano boxes of stuff, reel cases, and other fishing gear. We also have a rod rack in our basement that holds all of ourrods/combos all year.
  4. I enjoy mine. Great for the price! My favorite $100 reel! I'm now starting to go to all Lew's reels!
  5. Oh boy.... Here we go again! Why don't we just figure out the best flavor of pie, or the meaning of life perhaps...
  6. Hey, another Hoosier! Also, I don't have a problem with red trebles. But often times replacing stock hooks is a good idea. It definitely helps on lure where the stock hooks are not so sticky!
  7. Sorry, I should've clarified... What is a rage rig?
  8. Some say skip gap holds plastic better.
  9. Oh, its all good! Just wanted to see your setup! I'm boatless at this time, so I've been eyeing setups for fun. I'm thinking about going with a small aluminum or Jon w/a casting deck and storage added custom in the near distant future..
  10. I would look for something a little better IMO. I think a solid reel would be the new Aird or a Lew's SS. Also, a Tatula is an option, albeit slightly more pricey. Any Berkley rod is a good rod, but the 6'6" Lightning Rod is a good rod. Can be had for $40 new, and I find then used locally for $25, actually I bought two of three used I saw at that price.
  11. Yes, yes it does.. But I hope the bass masters don't turn into a Kardashian sissy fight.
  12. Cool paint jobs! Custom paint jobs look cool on everything!
  13. Similar to a jig w/a bigger chunk will fall slower than one with a smaller/no chunk?
  14. They usually come w/a hook and weight system though. Those would be a good option for the use of those though.
  15. Thank you sir! Always great to have other anglers to interact with, and without you and many others, this would not be possible!
  16. I tie my line to a tree or other fixed point, and then I pull back until my line is taught and my rod is fully loaded. This is where I want my drag to slip. I do this with most everything. Reason is, is because when your line is taught and rod is loaded something has got to give.. (Ie. Hook will rip out, line will snap, or rod will break)
  17. This happens a lot to me as well. I usually tend to stay away for the most part.
  18. That's crazy. Hopefully he can make it through ok.
  19. "Deeper Water".. Is what a lot of the cover you fish should be adjacent to. It makes the bass feel safer/gives them an ambush point.. It I always relative.
  20. Yep, now that I look at it, it definitely looks like a Gripper jig. Great jig at a great price, when you can find them...
  21. JVD, huh? Might be worth going just to see him, depending on door price. What time does it start? What is the entry fee?
  22. Basically this. I feel like it would be cool if you could cover everything live, but then that takes 8 hours, and then you can't cover it like you can a basketball game, because its impossible to truly be around all the action. If they could find a solution to this, it would be great, but I don't think they ever will.
