  1. I have a friend who uses a waterproof plastic box thing. I don't know much about it. It does not float, and you would have to take your phone out of the box.... The reason I want one it is it has a clip that hangs onto your bag. I'll ask him more about it and let you know...
  2. You can get carbon w/out the weave. Also, magnesium is fairly light, albeit more expensive. The weave looks painted... All I'm saying
  3. I dint know if mono would be sensitive enough, but 6lb is fine. Just play the fish. Don't horse the fish in and you should be good.
  4. That is a wicked avatar photo! Welcome!
  5. I'm going to try all of these along with Berkley 100% and 100% XL and see which I like best. I have heard good things about all. I will let you all know what I think.
  6. I have a few different systems. When I'm going to hit a private pond by me (roughly 9 acres) I use a large soft tackle box (http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/okeechobee-fats-t1200-series-tackle-bag/pid-1038203). Reason being... Is that a lot of different things may be working. I like to carry 3 rods, and lay them on the box, and carry most of my tackle in the box. I have a good amount of stuff, but not as much as many others. When I'm fishing a stretch of creek near my house I use a knap sack. I only carry a few boxes, and usually carry one rod and fish with a partner.
  7. It's got that weird carbon weave like the Ardents. Yuck
  8. This is a huge thing! Fish will concentrate on irregularities that give them a survival advantage. As for lures, on the edge of the grass, a spinnerbait and topwater walkers are a good choice. In the thick of it, a swim jig, punching rig, and frog are all good options.
  9. Water clarity is a big thing.. Cloud cover, all that stuff. Honestly, my ideal dropshot day is suspended fish, blue bird skies, and clear water.
  10. I have a local shop that carries them... But if you carry them cheaper I may have to pick some up!
  11. Yes it is... This would cause me to believe the fish was probably shallow.
  12. Student/Part Time Swim Instructor. It's not too bad for the money. I'm good at it, it buys me fishing stuff. Born to fish forced to work lol
  13. That's one of my favorite ever Tosh jokes.
  14. X2. I got parts to repair a VERY OLD ProCaster and I was very pleased with how timely the parts were sent. I can't get parts worth a crap for my Corsair from Shimano.
  15. I would go 20, but 30 would be fine. Use a longer than normal leader on some of your ultra finesse presentations.
  16. That red on the far left is sexy.
  17. That was very generous on part of both parties. I wish people would understand the whole give and take thing..
  18. I enjoyed that one as well. Also, seeing the local guy beat Scott was kinda nice lol!
  19. Just eat 'em! It's a waste of what's put here on God's Green Earth for us to use. "Take what you can use, release the rest!"
  20. Let the fish tell you which one they want.
  21. All of these would work well.. Slow rolling spinnerbaits, stroking jigs and big worms, all would work well. It really depends on the make up of the bottom. Crankbaits and Jigs excel in a hard bottom situation, while a Carolina style rig would work better in a softer bottom content, because they collect less vegetation IMO.
