  1. Yeah, seemed like a good day for the leaders, and an off day for everyone else. One of the Lee brothers said it was one of his worst ever.
  2. X2. I like soft touch knobs as well. I despise the Abu Garcia PVC knobs.
  3. It really depends on conditions. There is no real answer hear. To me, they are two different things.
  4. Those look like a nice pair. PB&J is a good jig color.
  5. Strike King Coffee Scented Rodent. Probably doesn't taste like my usual French roast!
  6. Cool! I'll check it out this weekend! Thanks
  7. Interesting food for thought.. Will have to do some research on it. Seems like you have a good logical explanation though.
  8. Really? Fisheries biologist in Indiana say that it is untrue that birds plat eggs in ponds.. Hmm... May have to look to confirm those.
  9. True true... It's funny, I can't seem to catch spawning fish lol! Biggest thing I heard is never hook a fish in the side of the head. We are fishing, not snagging.
  10. What are your thoughts on fishing for spawning fish? Is it good or bad for the health of an overall fishery? Do you take precautions when handling bedding fish? All thoughts appreciated.
  11. Try a weightless texposed rig to start out. A nail weight in a stick is a great way to go as well. If you are used to fishing wacky, this is how I would go... Pop that worm up, and then let the nail weight allow the bait to slide back towards the fish. This can be a great technique.
  12. It refers to having all your 'junk' out on the boat deck while fishing.
  13. I really enjoyed UMF a lot.
  14. I enjoy Berkley's for the price. I have some of each of their rods, but would like to pick up some E-Motion Performance Series rods. They are great rods and $80 iz a great price point. Edit: I'm not sure if the old Carbonlites are still cheap, but if I stumble across a deal for one I like in store.. I may pick it up. They seem nice too. Not a fan of the white look on the new ones.
  15. The Daiwa T-Wing System also offers more vertical, natural presentation of sinking baits.
  16. Junk fishing has its time and place, but I think that you should fish what you know or what you are confident in. Keep it simple. If you look at the guys who are winning tournaments, they are fishing what they are good at. KVD largely fishes one way. He may change up once in a while if he has too, but generally he is going to be covering water with some kind of hardbait. Hackney fishes jigs and crankbaits like he knows. He won a tournament on Pickwick grinding a crankbait on shallow flats, while everybody and their brother was playing the ledge game. Yes, you have to be versatile, and you may not be able to force the fish to go for your presentation, but I tend to say go w/whhat you know.
  17. What is the cost for shipping?
  18. You probably got a lemon. I said in another thread that w/mass manufactured products, as most reels are, there is going to be a lemon every once in a while. I always keep packaging, receipts, ECT. Because I have gotten a few lemons in my time. Then the one I get as a replacement usually works fine... If not, then that's when you realize that quality control is not where it needs to be.
  19. Ditto. I usually only go heavier for jigs/plastics.. I sometimes fish a *'6" MH for spinnerbaits, but not often.
