  1. Sick! How do the EMotions feel?
  2. Anything that is 7 or faster and is quality that will stand up to the test of true flipping and pitching. When it comes to flippin, you need to come prepared for battle. Your in the trenches. Go Big or Go home... 65# Braid and sometimes #20-25 fluorocarbon for me.
  3. As of now, I have a great big nothing. I'm looking at Kayaks for this upcoming year... I hope to be able to get myself a boat in the near future. Right now though, just admiring... Lol
  4. I love BBB stuff, so I'm gonna try some real deal draws for flipping/bed fishing this year.
  5. I think that it affects the position it sits rather than true buoyancy. I read that Fred Roumbanis uses braid so he can sense better and use smaller, more acute twitches.
  6. This exactly. People think you can just throw the rig and you win tournaments... But that is not how it works. The bass have to be acting in a specific way... It's like a crankbait. Some days the bass kill it... Should we ban those.... Nope.
  7. Get a part time job if you can. That's where I get my spending money. I wouldn't say there are great stores for a budget, but rather, great brands for budgets. Store brand quality has really gone up, and the Cabela's, BPS, and Academy house brands of great value/quality for the price. Also, I'd recommend BIG Bite Baits soft plastics. They are extremely well priced and of high quality. As for rods, the Berkley rods (Cherrywood, Lightning, Shock, Amp, EMotion) are all extremely solid rods for the price. I fish currently all Berkley rods, as they are the most cost effective option for me. Good luck, it gets tough trying to get everything you want w/limited spending money!
  8. According to A Mart, certain backing will decrease spool weight, and thus increase the speed the spool spins and casting distance.
  9. Some say Chris embellished things a little... But my guess is its his story from his point of view.. I doubt that its embellished IMO.
  10. Honestly, I think pots/payouts would change the way they do MLF a little bit... I don't know if we'd still like it necessarily...
  11. So in reality, these rules are all made so the bait monkey can get me to buy more gear!
  12. I think this is the difference between pros and joes. They are able to have a game plan, but change on the fly and adapt to the fish.
  13. I'm pretty sure most of the Browning and BPS stuff come from the same factory and have similar insides/specs.
  14. More Meteorologist need to be like one of the local guys in my grandparents area... "Some of ya'll gonna get wet, some of ya'll ain't."
  15. More invisible than regular non coated line... I guess I should have clarified... my mistake. Also, I don't think it's a huge deal, as I have not really had a problem fishing 12-17# XL Mono in terms of line shy fish..
  16. Nice bass! Glad you found a fishin' hole!
  17. FireLine has no stretch, so if you were going to use it on a cranking rod, you would want a very soft rod and you would probably want to back off your drag, but I don't see why you couldn't try it and see if you like it.
  18. It will make it invisible, but eventually the coating will wear off and it will not be quite as invisible.
  19. I don't necessarily. They are similar in situations, and by using a brush hog, you can imitate a lizard, but I find the brush hog to be slightly more compact. While not necessarily the most compact bait, but the brush hog is designed as a flipping/pitching creature bait.. I would not usually use them the same way... IMO
  20. Wlecome! That's a nice setup you have in your avatar! You should share it in the 'Show Your Ride' thread in the Bass Boats, Canoes and Kayaks Forum!
  21. X2. My spinnerbait reel is loaded w/12# XL and it works fine.
  22. Another good option would be a Hart Tackle Justice Jig. I like them for swimming and skipping myself.
