  1. Sorry to hear about your situation Boomstick. I hope things get better for you.
  2. I want 2. One in black and one in gold.
  3. So I'm running out of a fantastic pre-spawn bait I use every year. Its a big, ribbed swimbait I got from Grande Bass. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. Boo. Can't remember the name but I've got a pic of the one I have left. Looks like their rattlesnake only with a boot tail. For scale its 5 inches long. Anyone know a company that makes something like these?
  4. Nice catch @Luke G.
  5. I have fished with crawlers quite a bit when I was a kid. Cheap and easy to get. I always used a egg sinker with a swivel in front of it and then the line to the hook. That way the fish doesn't feel the weight when it picks it up. Works great for all species especially trout.
  6. I'm surprised they moved it from Michigan to Lake Murray. The action was constant with the LM or SM at Alpena.
  7. Columbia. I got my first pair 10 yrs ago. They are the kind that you can unzip the legs to make them shorts. Great option and they are light weight even with the legs on.
  8. The coolest thing I've ever seen in the outdoors is watching an Osprey dive into the water. Just amazing.

Large caliber in small gun means the recoil goes straight to your hand. But as a fun gun that you occasionally shoot, they ain't bad. I shot a derringer back about 5 yrs ago. Guy had one at the local range/stripping pit. Wouldn't want to shoot that every day.
  10. Did Mr. Snuffleupagus grade your paper? ?
  11. Good luck with your goal. Beltzville is a good lake but fishing it can be frustrating. I wish I had taken notes when I fished it. Most of the knowledge I have of it is from memory and that can be tainted at times.
  12. I only wish I could rep you even more for this post. Totally out of nowhere and hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.

    What are you looking at????
  14. Those big bass are in there but tough to get. My PB came from Beltzville back when there were more smallmouths in the lake than largemouths. I saw a school of smallies cruising the shore. Casted ahead of them and near a log in the water. Ended up landing a 7 pound largemouth. Came out of Pine Run cove, below the bridge.
  15. Wow. Both boat and car went about 70 ft into the lake. Yike! I witnessed something very similar happen at a launch on Nockamixon lake 3 decades ago. Father had backed the boat down the launch into the water and his adult son was having a tough time pulling the rope attached to the boat to get the boat off the trailer. The father got angry after repeatedly yelling at the son and thought he should get out and show the son how to do it. When he did the station wagon rolled back into the lake up to its hood ornament. They called a wrecker in to haul out the wagon, trailer and boat which had sunk due to it being attached to the trailer which is why the son couldn't pull the boat off the trailer with the rope. Not sure which was funnier, watching the old station wagon fill up with water or listening to the guy blame his son for everything bad that happened since he was born. Reminder...always take your time loading and unloading your watercraft into and out of the water. BTW @PAbasser927 how was the fishing?
  16. Bobby Lane was my only one to make it to the final day. We'll see how it goes.
  17. Got out today to fish the Susquehanna River. Unfortunately because of the spring that didn't happen this year most of the big females were nowhere to be found. But the 2 smallies I caught fought like the devil in the current. Both weighed about 1 1/2 pounds each.
  18. I got a friend who lives about 20 minutes from me and he hears coyotes howling too close for comfort. He's afraid his dogs will have a run-in with them. He's even asked me if I know anybody that hunts them. He figures if someone starts hunting some of those yotes in the area they might move along or at the least reduce the pack.
  19. A. Martin 10th KVD 54th E. Evers 5th B. Lane 7th K. Combs 32nd Not a bad roster. KVD was a bit disappointing but I think most people had him as a pick so we all lost. Evers was a no-brainer because of his previous finishes on Kentucky Lake. I picked Martin because I thought the tourney was going to be won by someone who could do both power fishing and finesse fishing.
  20. ^^^^This. Today I was driving by a local stripping pit and didn't see one bike. Not a kid in sight. When I was a kid we spent most of our spring, summer and fall fishing. We are losing young people in the sport we love. My friend is a waterways conservation officer. I took him some of my older spinning rods and reels and some small trout lures so he could give them to some kids and hopefully get them outside to enjoy fishing like I did when I was a kid.

I wholeheartedly disagree. The idea that a Whopper Plopper was responsible for such a incredible catch totally dismisses the claim and makes the discussion null and void because, as I stated, the lure simply does not work. Its based on voodoo and charlatanism (look it up, its a real word) therefor any discussion must carry a great degree of skepticism and humbuggery.
  22. Tree Trimmer Shears, are you a landscaper cause I got a backyard that needs some work. Knitting Needles??? Knitting Needles??? My mind is reeling with thoughts of you knitting a tiny sweater for a bass.
  23. And the "Understatement of the Year" award goes to @Jelvas.
  24. Sounds suspiciously like my uncle Earle. Was he smoking Lucky Strikes and gumbling about politicians and the government? Those reflective eyes are cataracts. He's had them all his life. Might also be my aunt Bertha, Uncle Earle's wife. She also complains about the government but smokes Camels unfiltered.
