I call BS. Everybody knows that lure don't work. Its the Banjo Minnow of this decade. ?
  2. Just my guess, someone's gonna catch some bass and win some money.
  3. Check out Gouldsboro State park and Gouldsboro lake. I've heard good things about the panfish fishing there.
  4. We've all been there. Had the urge to purge last week when I was about 10 miles from nowhere. Hopped over the guard rail, down the bank, quick check to make sure there ain't any poison ivy and made a pile. Funny thing is as I was leaving a guy come walking up the bank not to far from where I left the load. 2 minutes sooner and he would have seen a moon in the middle of the day.
  5. Most of us in the northeast know how you feel @RHuff. Yesterday was in the mid 40's with snow flurries in some areas. Today started out with more snow and low 30's then rain and now sun and mid 60's. Tomorrow is gonna be in the high 70's. Not really sure where the bass will be or even if they will bite.
  6. IMO swimbaits are more realistic looking with a bait fish profile. Swimjigs can resemble bait fish or crawfish or frogs or any food for bass. Having said that, swimjigs have caught me more fish in clear water lakes where you would think more realistic baits would work better. Fish want what fish want. No rhyme or reason.
  7. Lure knocker doesn't work on pike unless you hit them on the head. Even then you aren't guaranteed to get your lure back. ?
  8. 10. Always liked Trace Adkins songs.
  9. At $10 each I'm out. Not to mention that, for that price, it doesn't even include the soft plastic bait. That's just wrong.
  10. Knows when to set the hook, just like her granddad. Congrats to the young lady.

Congrats. Now you are on "Golden Time". Enjoy every day and catch every fish you can.
  12. Really....I'm shocked....
  13. Sorry to hear about the problems @Bluebasser86 If you get a chance, could you snap a pic of where its happening? This is info I think all boat owners/future boat owners should know about and look to avoid. It might help prevent boat owners from going thru what you are going thru.
  14. Like the report of a man eating chicken.....turned out to be this......
  15. Phil-a.....get it fillet.
  16. Not sure about inferior but they are cheaper That is why I bought them.
  17. I was traveling this weekend and stopped off at an Ollie's to see if they had any LC baits as reported. Sure enough there they were. So if anybody is in the Shamokin Dam area on RT. 11, they got plenty of LC baits. Sammies, crankbaits, gunfish, and pointers. Also I saw Arashi crankbaits for $3.99 to $4.99.
  18. Welcome to the best website on bass fishing this side of the internet.

I can. When you feel him starting to come up just give him slack or bring the rod tip toward him and he'll not jump. Now I can't say I've done it always. Sometimes the excitement gets to me as much as anyone. But it can be done. Try it the next time you hook up with one.
  20. Most of my bait choices are based on experience. When it doesn't work I start hunting for something that does work. Its a puzzle. You put the pieces together as you go. We have all had days when this has happened. Basically if I'm working a bait that is moving fast I will go to a bait that moves slower. If a spinner bait ain't working that day I'll look for places to throw a jig or a worm texas rigged. If that don't work then I go slower to a drop shot rig or small swim bait. Also size of the bait gets smaller as I go. Some days you catch them, some days you don't.
  21. Agreed. Stupid is as stupid does.

Weather a bass leaps in the air has more to do with the angler than the fish. I've found that letting a fish fight the rod and not trying to bring it in too quick will stop them from jumping. Also a properly adjusted drag helps by letting the fish take line. If you keep a very tight line on the fish it will come to the surface and jump.

I believe most good stories start like that.
  24. I got plenty of grubs in many forms. I got single tail, double tail, ripple tail, triple tail and spear tail. 3", 4", 5" and even 6". Colors range from clear smoke and char. to black and almost every color in between. I use them on jig head and on spinner baits as a trailer. A single grub can be the difference between catching lots of fish and catching none. Its one of the baits I never leave home with out.
