In muddy water I would grab a 5xd in white chartreuse back. If that runs to deep shift to a 3xd.

Are we talking bait casting that all use the same spool or spinning all different sizes. I have 10 bait casters that use the same spool and 3 spares/unique spools. A spare spool for a stella is major money so we need a lot more information

My most used hook is a 2/0 ewg from gamakatsu. Would that work for your purpose I think not. In your situation I would be looking at a #1 dropshot hook. No hook can do everything.

Do you have a gas motor? If not go with a 24v system so you have reserve capacity to run fish finders and charge your phone if needed. Depending on your state laws you may not need to register it if there is no gas motor which was why I looked into going that route. I ended up with a hobie pro angler. Not giving the state any more money than I have to.

I have the most luck on a regular size fluke fishing it on a 2power 7 foot spinning rod and reel. When Creek Fishing the tiny flukes are awesome on a number 1 ewg hook

Only time I ever really heard of this was with those biodegradable big bites baits that would just completely disintegrate in the water

I use a 2/0 ,ewg and the hook eye is 1/8th inch below the head of the worm. Works for me.

A good thing to have in a tray or pocket of you bag is a seamstress tape. If your scale dies or you forget it, the measurements can save the day. If you happen to land a pb that you would like a replica having a length and girth is perfect

I highly recommend a second spool so it can be with you as conditions change or the bait you want to fish goes best with. Depending on your situation a long leader may be just as good. I run 20-25 foot leaders on my spinning rods so I can retie often and change rigs if I want with no reties during the trip.

It's not any harder unless you struggle to cast. You will notice things like correct line fill that never bothered you before. You can also cover an area a lot faster to find productive areas. I worm fish with 12lb yhb. I punch with 50 or 65 lb braid. I only run leaders on spinning rods for finesse. I almost never use flourocarbon anymore. When trout fishing or dropshot in trout waters that are gin clear.

As a first I always recommend a daiwa advantage hts or htsl. It is salt water tolerant and fine for brackish. It's a little heavy but has great casting manners and very smooth. Besides there always cheap when you find them as they provided a very high performance to dollar raito.

I have a lot of this color as it seems to work well in very clear and normal conditions. It's a natural green with watermelon appendages and a green pumpkin core. Works well in lizards and brush hawg. Always have a pack in the yak. Between 420 and pbj I feel all conditions are covered.

New guy to fishing use the same tricks you used to help kids catch fish. A keitech with an owner weedless hook will let him cast and crank while not hanging up. This hugely effective way is fun and active. You can size him up or down to get more bites and can use them on casting or spinning gear. Additionally you can teach lure modifications with underspins and depth control with adjustable weights and cranking speed. Works for everyone I ever taught and is only expensive when the fish are active which at that point your trading money for fun....

Manufacturers use fitted pieces because it's faster cheaper and easier. For a custom rod a dollar is nothing so I want arbors. Does tape work, obviously it does. Is there a better way I believe in right tool for the job always.

This happens to me a lot as I fish small ponds where most people shore fish. I do my part and get as much line as possible out of the water and recycle any lead I find for bullets. Clean is nice, and the amount of trash around Memphis makes me sad.
