Help broke college student find the best suiting rod for under $120
Used is not the popular answer but if you can find a medium 66mf avid its one heck of a versatile rod. Great for jerkbaits 1.5 squarebills and smaller top water.

When should I fish deep cranks? Should I?
The best time in your case is to fish a mid lake hump or rise. Are you running sonar?

we're talking graphite here
The slower rod will keep them pinned better. My steez flexlight is amazing and is 7' medium. Not a fast rod at all.

Daiwa reels
Alphas are sold all over. Epay has the new sv. Older SOL reels have the same frame. I love the orange side plates!

Copolymer lines
I use YHB in 10 for most stuff except heavy cover where I use braid.

How to fish Beaver soft plastic
I use it as a jig trailer and with a bullet weight with a flipping hook. Green pumpkin is best for me.

Best place to buy quality split rings in bulk
I like the spro split rings and you can get bags of 50. Right off the site or epay your choice.

Sunline Sniper
I use both the lines you just mentioned. They are both good, and function about the same for me. There might be better out there but these two were the end of my search.

Matching spinning rods and reels
I use 2000 or 20 size reels. They balance much better. If your using flouro then the larger spool may be nice.

Opinions on Fluorocarbon
P-line 100% and sniper are the two I like the best. Lots I haven't tried.

Daiwa finally lost it

Spinning Reel Survey
I love my daiwa certate 2000. Waited a long time but I found a new one for 195 shipped. The advantage Sol and fuego are all tops in my book

How much should I spend
You can get much nicer gear on the used market. You can find a daiwa Sol for about a hundred or less and pair it with a used avid 7' medium. This is what I use and its a great pair.

Reel gear ratio question
I think playing the fish is just fine. If you take some time to get in your catch it will not harm the fish at all. There are times you need to be quicker and smart. In the hot part of summer is not the time to take all day. Flipping them into the boat and then taking forever to let them go as you showboat for pictures or video is way more harmful IMO. The reel speed has no real impact on the health of the fish. Now matching your ratio will have an effect on properly boating a fish. The lower raito's help a lot with high resistance and large baits. Grinding in a hudd on a 7:1 or higher is not my idea of fun. +8:1 on jig rods are great and a good way to help keep your fast or xfast rod loaded. Just my opinion

Replacing ET Smallmouth with ET Bass
I would say so but the rating for power and speed are different and so is length. I find it very versatile and it is one rod in my yak that always goes. I don't bring more than 3 and most times just 2. I run a 2000 daiwa spinning reel with my ml and its very nice.

Which hand gun for home defense?
A shotgun is just as bad for shooting threw walls. 00 buck will go threw a wall and kill on the other side. The amount of bullets flying in the air that don't meet target is a big risk.

Custom Rod built Input needed

Finesse Deep Diving Crankbaits?
Rapala makes some minnow type baits that are not huge or heavy that go deep. The tail dancers might be worth a look.
