  1. Glad the rod went into good hands! Speaking of Daiwa products.. Ballistic LT's seem to be multiplying in my house.
  2. I would also have to vote for Vermilion. There's big largemouth in the northern end, then you can go in the south/eastern side to chase big smallies. There's lots of trophy fish of every species in Vermilion. It's a special lake. Leech is also known for big largemouth. Plus there's a million lakes just south of Leech that are loaded with largies & smallies.
  3. I'm a finesse addict, these are gonna be my 3 combos in the rod locker this year: L to R Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'1 M AGS Ehler rod w/ ballistic LT 2500 - dropshot rod Gloomis GLX 852S JWR w/ ballistic LT 3000 - small swimbaits/wacky/shakey head St Croix Legend Xtreme w/ taula LT 3000 silver - ned/neko I'm really excited to pit each rod against eachother to see which one is really superior. The GLX and Legend are new to me. Last year the Daiwa AGS was a total pleasure, so we'll see if these two are THAT much better.
  4. Hah I was gonna sing "one of these things is not like the other.."
  5. It just looks like a normal picture from latest purchase thread.
  6. $99 MGL? You done good.
  7. Thanks. I loaded up.
  8. Sadly the ZX is being discontinued, from what I heard.
  9. Really? There a buncha killer reels tou can pick up for 125 and under these days.
  10. Wheeler and Martain jumping from Okuma was kinda surprising. These TCS rods have won a lot of money!
  11. Here's my current St Croix lineup. I have other stuff but this is the Croix family picture: L to R: Legend Xtreme 7' M - Tatula LT 3000 Silver edition Legend Tournament Pro 7'1 MH Swimjig with a brand that can't be named Legend Tournament Pro 7'1 M Plastics - Lews Tournament Pro G Legend Tournament Pro 6'8 M Jerkbait - Tatula 100 Legend X 7'1 MH - Tatula 100 Legend Glass 7'2 MM - Lews Tournament Pro Avid X 7'4 H - Tatula 100 Avid X 7' M - Shimano Casitas
  12. Man it's been a while since Cabela's sent out a 20 off 100 coupon.
  13. I'm smitten with the new Tatula 100 reels. I've ordered 3 already haha. They feel just right in my hands and in love the handles. For 90 bucks shipped these things seem like a no brainier.
  14. Hrm the knobs are different on that one than the Tatula 100.
  15. Hah back to back legends w/ tatula LTs.
  16. I've been coveting this 7' Legend Xtreme for years and it feels awesome to finally have landed one. I think I'm going to run the Tatula LT silver edition on it because.. well it looks pretty awesome.
  17. These just came out so I don't think too many people have used them. They look nice though! It's replaced the Tournament Pro G in the Lews lineup this year.
  18. Avid X's are really the only St Croix's that DON'T feel "tip heavy" haha. The micro guides makes them way more balanced than the Legend rods.
  19. The Daiwa Taula Elite spinning rods are FANTASTIC and the non-AGS guide rods can be had for around $150 (or lower) with various coupon codes and sales. They are more for finesse techniques however.
  20. That's some top shelf metal right there.
  21. We've been hitting the south/south east/east side mostly. We started hitting the new state park (Vermillion Ridge) and we LOVE it. I booked there again this year in July. I'll shoot you a PM.
