  1. I love their hats and the PFG boat shoes are amazing.
  2. I've been out the last few days around the north metro. The fish are up REALLY shallow and look to be ready to spawn any day now. On Saturday/Sunday/Monday I was able to catch a bunch of fish right up on the bank w/ spinnerbait and a ton on a weightless stick bait. Today we hit a muddier lake and the fish didn't want ANYTHING. I got one on a dropshot in like 3 hours of fishing. Guess I couldn't have 4 straight days of a good bite haha.
  3. I own the 7'3 MH jig/worm Zillion rod and it's AWESOME. It's ridiculously well balanced. Great reel seat too. It's honestly one of my favorite rods that I own.
  4. You guys like beer? Could hit a taproom or something. Like 10k or Omni.
  5. i'm going out sunday evening for sure
  6. They never have the rain gear in the store.
  7. Word is Mille Lacs is looking open'ish. Should be good by the weekend.
  8. I second that Under Armor fish shirts are durable. I've got a few that I've washed MANY times and they look brand new.
  9. I have a couple pairs of the Stormr gloves and they are awesome. I wear them as often as I can. https://www.amazon.com/STORMR-UV-SHIELD-Control-Gloves/dp/B01GUFUC6A
  10. Where is everyone fishing for opener?
  11. nice, that's exactly what i'm looking for
  12. There's LOTS of options these days for swimbait heads. I usually carry 3 types. When I'm fishing really rocky areas that I know I'm going to break off several times, I use the cheap Cabela's brand "mean eye" jig heads for swimbaits. They are inexpensive, sharp, and have nice plastic keepers. I use these when I'm fishing rivers mostly. When I'm not so worried about donating swimbaits to cover, I really like the Keitech tungsten brand ball head jigs. They come in tons of hook sizes and weights, and also double as great jig-worm heads. These keitech heads are great for smaller finesse swimbaits. Last year I started using the new Outkast Tackle Goldenye swim jig heads that Josh Doulgas developed, and they are pretty darn amazing. I'm going to alternate between these and the keitechs. Size wise, it depends on how deep you'll be fishing these. I find that 1/4oz is a good all-around size for 8 feet or deeper. It's good to have several weights & hook sizes to switch things up on the fly. 3/8ths seems to be very popular for deep water fishing (ledges and whatnot) and to use in current. I'd load up on 3/16th, 1/4oz, and 3/8th which should cover you in shallow/mid/deep depths.
  13. Anyone got a suggestion on where I could get a cover for my 150 Vmax that I can leave on year round? It's a 2002.
  14. I'm down. I'd even be down for just getting together somewhere for some beers.
  15. Yea, they are being dropped. Sad.
  16. With the eBay code today I snagged a Daiwa Luvias 3000H for 130 bucks shipped. Kinda ridiculous.
  17. Dang, they don't have any of the models I need. I have a 7'3 MH jig/worm rod and it's awesome, VERY well balanced.
  18. I snuck out for an hour today over lunch and ran the skeet, she's fast! I rigged a HDS12 and HDS7 gen 3's and everything worked, although I need to adjust the transducer angle a little bit. I'm surprised at how quick and smooth the hole shot is.
  19. Picked up a nice 2002 SX190 recently. Been deep cleaning it and re-rigging it with HDS gen 3 units. Came with a 150 VMax and a 24v maxxum.
  20. It's a 2002 sx190 with a 150 vmax. It's in fantastic condition and was under 12k. It's my first fiberglass bass boat. Been a long time coming!
  21. FG knot is good! There's a lot of good leader knots out there. Blood, FG, and the RP (royal polaris) are popular. Try em and see which ones you like the best. I'm a RP knot kinda guy personally. Oh another note.. she's home! Let the rigging begin.
  22. Wow, I know that reel is beloved by the saltwater crowd but for that price.. might be worth to check out for freshwater eh?
  23. Yeah for sure, I got some HDS gen3 units to slap on it.. can't wait. Hopefully get it this weekend.
