Fluke, dinger and trick worm are my favorites. Worms, brush hogs, lizards or any other lure with action of its own don’t produce as well for me.

I would suggest trying both reel models( and others) out to be sure that you want a small framed reel for palming. One reason that I went away from Lews and switched to Daiwa is because Lews reels kept getting smaller and smaller until they were uncomfortable to me.

Good read but it states braid as being abrasion resistant. I only use braid on my frog rod and I don’t have much experience with abrasion. It seems I’ve read that people use flourocarbon leaders quite often because braid is susceptible to abrasion on rocks, zebra mussels and dock posts. What’s the general consensus on braid and abrasion?

Booyah pad crashers have worked well for me.

a chain is only as strong as the weakest link. Something has to give. If you can’t get a stronger knot you could try a weaker hook.

What weights are typically used for the Tokyo rig?

Siebert dock rocker 3/8 or 1/2 oz for me.

That spool lip looks like sand paper. Abrasion is what I have seen turn flourocarbon white like that.

I have used yz hybrid and recommend 12lb for baitcasting unless you’re in heavy cover. it really is a great combination of the benefits of mono and flouro at an affordable price.

For me the tournament mb will cast farther than any other Lews reel.

I’m most comfortable with a 7’ frog rod but plenty of people commonly use up to 7’6” and maybe longer.

I have poor hookups with ewg and use offset round bend for 99% of my soft plastics.
