Kvd line conditioner
So on my last order I got a 4 ounce bottle of the stuff. I like to fish 15 pound big game mono. We all know the stuff ends up like a slinky lol. I also got a new rod. It’s a tad heavy to cast light lures like I like but doable. I spooled fresh big game. And casted and dialed the reel in. Played with it in the yard. Decided to give the line a good soaking and let it dry overnight. I’m genuinely shocked how well big game casts and the memory was drastically reduced. I’m sold on the stuff I think.

Ice out tacklebox
This is a great thread. For me it’s my second year fishing ice out. Last year it was a rapala jerkbait, a finesse jig, and a yum dinger. Only thing I’m gonna do different this year is downsize the jerkbait. Downsize the dinger to Ned size. And add a 1/4 rattle trap. Jig wil stay the same. But like @casts_by_fly said once the water hits about 50 I’ll start working just about anything.

Make tungsten weights?
I’m an industrial mechanic and fabricator. And was a diesel mechanic for 20 years. I’m all for making your own stuff. But man this one is out there as far as cost vs reward.

Ned rig grub?
That was my thinking. I was just thinking finesse and outside the box for this year. The places I did get hammered with pressure. I catch fish with lures or hooks in there mouth all summer. And wanted a little different presentation for them

I got 2 packs of trd to try this year and a pack of jula sticks. I’ve used them in the past a few times. Man they produce so well you keep that many rigged up?

Ned rig grub?
So over the winter. I’ve been thinking about alternatives to show my bass something different this year. And I’ve been wondering does anyone throw a zoom fat Albert or the like on a Ned head? ( this thought was long before Hank cherry just won on a grub lol)

Keeping a positive attitude
I’ve been watching a lot of Gerald swindles videos lately. He’s always been one of my favorites. And one of the greatest fisherman but also a wonderful motivational life coach. I think as anglers we get way too rapped up in catching our PB. Or having the latest and greatest equipment. Being judgmental. Having every lure on the planet. But deep down I think the people who are the happiest and enjoy the sport and the outdoors are the people who put the time and work in. Truly learn the fishery. It’s so easy to get caught up in needing this or that. I hope this year everyone can enjoy their time on the water. And learn and stay positive. To the new people to the forum…..you don’t need all this and that. Just put the time in. Learn your ponds or lakes. Really dedicate the time to a couple presentations. And enjoy their ride. On those days when you skunk out. Find a positive in it. Don’t get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the sport. Keep it simple and enjoy the outdoors. Help a kid fish. Give a random fisherman some lures to try when they ask what you are catching them on. It doesn’t all have to be a huge secret. Don’t gate keep. Help grow the sport and the positivity and joy it brings. Sorry for the long post and rant and I’m surprised if ya read this far lol.

Paralysis by analysis
Awesome write up! This is a lot how I fish. Very small bag one small plastic box and a few bags of plastics or trailers. I keep it super simple. And don’t fall into the color deal.

Do you scuff your worms?
I believe she’s referring to a randy blauket vid. I’ve seen it. And I will say rolling them around and stretching them makes them more limp. Like a stick bait. The action does improve. But I don’t know that when I’ve tried it I caught anymore fish lol

Do you scuff your worms?
I stretch them out and roll them around in my hands and such. The get limper and more action that way
