  1. Man I really feel some great rods were missed in the $150 and less range. Fenwick and falcon both would have been great on that list

Thank you. Forgot to mention I also use a superline hook.

I wish it was rocks and timber here. It’s all vegetation and silt bottom from the vegetation dying every year. We do have a few feet of rip rap bank in the ponds though. I fish them on a 4/0 ewg weightless personally. A couple twitches and let it sit and repeat
  4. I like the fact it sinks. And it is more sensitive. i used flouro leaders in salt water for 20 years. Yeah it requires more re tying and such. but to me it is a hard sell on im one bad cast away from a trashed spool of line that’s is expensive lol.
  5. I don’t have a ton of contribution to this post. I agree they overlap but are different at the same time. But I do keep it simple. And try to not purchase a ton of different lures. one I can agree is the difference in vibrating jigs vs a spinner bait. On nasty cloudy water days after hard rains. A spinnerbait won’t do it. But a vibrating jig killed them this year. First time in 10 years of trying that I caught fish on one
  6. Pffttt I fish small local neighborhood ponds. Lots of fish and some some big ones. And I can’t even find the fish half the time lol. They sure are smart for such a tiny brain. That sis since fun learning and trying to figure them out lol
  7. Some I’ve been working on. 3/16 sniper heads and hand tied skirts. Really gonna stick with more natural and bottom matching colors this year
  8. Wow! That’s amazing work
  9. I fish caffeine shade and just use mend it to put the nose back together. Works well and when it doesn’t anymore I buy. New pack. And I just use a standard 4/0 ewg hook
  10. Dang I have overlooked the mag speednworms for so long. Ugh maybe I’ll have to get a pack lol
  11. I’ll keep ya in my thoughts. Hope all goes well. Keep you’re head up
  12. I had a lot of success this year on the zoom speedworms. But I was curious do most of you prefer the magnapeed worms over the regular? I see them talked about a lot more.
  13. I’ve always slow dragged it with a pause. Kinda like dragging a jig. But I never had a lot of success or tried it a lot. The ponds I fish the bottom is just so weedy and scummy it is a pain and your constant cleaning stuff off the weight
  14. I but the heads molded lol. But I do Paint them myself and bake them and install weedguards.
  15. All of you have been a huge help on that adventure and catching fish.
  16. Thank you! It’s a lot of fun creating lures. And actually catching fish on them
  17. @WRB-2.0 this is what I’ve made so far for a puff ball
  18. lol I didn’t think of that
  19. Thank you for the history lesson! I want to get into the puffball jigs for next year. I’ve made one. Or my version of it. Out of rubber. But they seem like a warm water fast acting presentation?
  20. They always have to me. It’s the count and the cut. But I saw these and thought it was interesting.
  21. I didn’t know that. Thank you so much!
  22. I’ve made a few puff ball style jigs. But have not fished any yet. I was curious not so much about the finesse presentation but the fact these are finesse tabs. They are thinner silicone
  23. And Pat understands!! I know a few lil things will pop up. But I’m not buying crap just to try. Unless a goal is in mind. Exactly there will be tiny purchases. And replenishing what I have that really works. But none of the let’s buy stuff that’s on sale just to try for the sake of buying it
  24. Yall are a bad influence lol
  25. My wife got a new cabinet for the basement. So I put my stuff In it instead of the plastic dresser I had. I organized it. And honestly I don’t think I need to buy a dang thing this coming season lol. I’m gonna try hard to work with what I have on hand.
