  1. Is it similar to elaztech?
  2. Thanks so much everyone! I’ll have to get a pack for the spring and give them a shot. I’m late to the party as usual tho lol
  3. Im pretty well stocked on baits and tackle. Gonna tie up new jigs as that’s what I primarily fish. Butttttr im pretty interested in the bellows gill. I may try some 3.8 weightless next year. They are pricy but I don’t think it’s a presentation the fish have seen here
  4. Didn’t know that one. Thank you for posting it. I have used the nail knot for 20 years or longer. But I like this better. Have to practice it over winter
  5. Made it out one more time and talked one dink into playing. Threw a spinner bait a jog and a jerk bait. Our water temps are low and I think that’s a wrap for the season. Time to clean stuff up and organize and watch you tube fishing lol
  6. I haven’t brought a thermometer with me. I could check surface temp. But I know one of our major lakes near me is at 55 degrees already. So I’d imagine the ponds I fish are about shut down for the winter.
  7. That’s what I was trying is jerk baits, spinner baits, finesse jigs. I may need to try a bed or a trick worm
  8. Man I’ve actually snuck out a few times since our cool weather stabilized. Thrown several diff lures. And retrieves. It’s like all my fish are on the winter break already lol.
  9. I’m glad ya are getting some Use out of it. And got a storage system in the works.
  10. and that’s all that matters man.
  11. Color just doesn’t matter
  12. Gah I knew early this morning I left one out. Thank you so much. You have helped me for a whole lot of years. Literally lol I don’t know about that. But thank you. And I truly am happy on the bank. That’s the plan. Winter setting in will be different for sure
  13. This has truly been the best year of bass fishing I’ve ever had. In many years of bass fishing. And in a new part of the country with new baits I’d never have tried before. So I wanted to say thank you to the people who helped me. Thank you so much to @Pat Brown @Swamp Girl @Jig Man @casts_by_fly and anyone else who has ever messaged with me or commented on posts. Thank you
  14. Thank you so much. I tried lol. With a lot of help from all of you
  15. lol your probably right. I’ll resist that as long as I can. Jigs are a big enough rabbit hole. If we get a day the wind isn’t blowing 20 mph I may sneak out.
  16. Aweosme!! I hope ya feel better

See I’ve tried that and no results. But let’s be fair I probably Didn’t give it a chance and went back to a confidence bait lol
  18. Thanks for posting this! I’m about to sit down and try and clean the pond scum and gunk out of the guides on mine this weekend. And wasn’t sure what wanted to use. Sorry I don’t have any input to help

Never tried one. Always thought about it though. I love a lipless crank. But I hate all the crap treble hooks drag up off the bottom lol
  20. Hopefully you get to fish all winter! If not we can send jigs back and forth haha
  21. No kidding lol. That’s what I’m looking at now lol
  22. That would be a lot of fun
  23. I’ve thought hard about a bfs setup. It would be a ton of fun I think
  24. So I hung it up a little early as holidays and birthdays and a new job are just getting busy. And I’m no writer at all. So bear with me lol. Just a reflection on my year. i fished pretty dang hard between march to October. I mostly fished 4 ponds near my house. Every one fished different bait wise and cover wise. Went from amazing days 20-30 fish in 2 hours. To hard no fish days in summer. Plant of fish in the 1-2 pound range consistently. But found Blaine very healthy fish including my pb this year. I had the best year of fishing ever. And I lived in Florida all my life lol. But Iowa has been amazing to me. I caught fish on soft plastics, jigs, spinner baits, bladed jigs, frogs and other top waters. But the Choppo in 75 size a Berkley bullet pop. Those were my big time top water killers. Jigs were my main deal though. I learned to hop them, drag them, swim them and even tie them! That will be my winter project! I enjoy painting them and tying them. I played with different line types and colors of baits. And honestly realized for me it doesn’t matter. Fish what you like and have confidence in. I caught them on every kinda line and color. It was a bit confidence. thanks for reading the ramble and if you made it this far I am absolutely shocked.
  25. Fishing new waters I’d keep it super simple and confidence baits. Florida water will be hard to use anything treble hook from the bank. It’s gonna be alot of weedless plastics. I fished there my whole life before moving to Iowa. Weightless soft plastics definitely get it done. Don’t forget you need a fishing license when ya get there! Man those trips sound fun!!
