  1. Made my last outing of the year today. I went last night as well caught a few dinks. And caught this guy today. It’s getting colder here finally. And busier with work and holidays. So I made the last trip. Had a wonderful season catching fish. Learned soooo much. Now to sit back for winter and tie some jigs and watch YouTube fishing. I’m gonna make a detailed post about this years fishing soon.
  2. I fish as far away as I can from the edge. But it really depends sometimes I work my way closer to get more distance. Always working the bank parallel and fan casting. One thing I haven’t seen mentioned is line choice. Sure you can bomb a 120 foot cast. But depending on lure and line choice will it be an efficient hook set? Or will you just miss hook sets and get frustrated? Like mentioned a lot of bites come close to shore. So I usually fish close
  3. Off the top of my head I think I lost 6-7 jigs this year? And honestly they were my fault probably lol. Had a pretty good year not losing lures. Lost a buzzbait though first day out. Im Tying my own jigs now. So over the winter I’ll make a bunch ip to have a good stock. And some to give away. Ill be pretty bored lol

I fish them like everyone else. But I also do what Pat mentioned. A paddle tail swim bait retrieved on the surface is another great one to try
  5. Yep! Can’t wait. Should get some good rain tonite
  6. So I’ve been tying silicone and mix of silicone and living rubber. I can’t get a bit on the rubber and silicone jigs. But I always catch them on the silicone skirts. Not to say im gonna stop tying and fishing the rubber skirts. But I’m much more productive on silicone
  7. Was my left elbow. Doctor says I have tennis and golf elbow. The rest has definitely helped it a ton. I don’t have to take anti inflammatory every day anymore. And it only hurts if I really strain it instead of constantly lol. Thank you so much for asking
  8. Made it out tonite for about 1.5 hours. Caught a few good sized fish on a chopo. Snagged a bush on a back cast and blew my reel up lol. So new mono in order for that one. Caught a super dink on a jig. Hooked a good one. Honestly don’t know what it was didn’t act like a bass. Made a real hard run fast parallel to the bank but came off. Interesting for sure. No pics of the outing but was nice to get out!
  9. Things are getting more normal and slowing down. I’m still here and will be contributing more!
  10. Hope everyone has been well. Just saying hey. Haven’t had a ton of time to be on the forum. New job has been keeping me busy. I’ve been out a few times and caught some dinks. But fishing just hasn’t been that amazing here lately. Can’t wait for true fall to be here!
  11. Thanks everyone!!! Knew I was being a little crazy haha
  12. So I caught my pb on a falcon lowrider and a lews lfs speedspool. My shimano slx reels and other rods haven’t been touched since lol. And I have the urge to switch stuff over to lews and all falcon. Just curious as silly as it is if anyone else ever feels that way lol
  13. I did end up trimming it. I liked it longer but didn’t want to use a longer trailer lol
  14. Age alone makes it hard. But when ya spend your life laboring and selling your body for money. It breaks down faster. I hope for a speedy recovery
  15. I hope your surgeries go well. If I can make it out I’ll post about anything exciting that happens. Other than my pb in August nothing exciting has happened on the outings I have had. I’ve been tying a lot of jigs though. Getting decent at that and happy with most I tie.
  16. It is definitely an online order. I’ve never found it locally in either state I’ve lived in. Well worth the purchase though. I’ve saved a lot of money on plastics
  17. I just use the cheap rapala scissors that are $5 at fleet farm
  18. The bottle I have doesn’t have any ingredients listed actually. I’m sure it could be found on the website though.
  19. Absolutely! Glad I could help you out kinda for once!!
  20. I’ve been using it all season since I made this post. I could not be happier with the stuff. It has saved me a lot of money
  21. My largest bass have all been caught on bluebird sky’s sunny days. In the middle of afternoon. now my super productive days have usually been rainy or overcast windy all that business. But the big girls have all bit on a nice day sunny and buried in cover.
  22. This will be my first year with a hard water season. I’m in Iowa also. Moved from Florida. I plan to just organize and clean stuff up. Make some jigs. That kinda stuff. I started a new job and it’s kinda busy. So I’m ready for the down time.
  23. For the most fun. Gotta be a choppo for me 105 or 75. Prefer the 75 though.
  24. Started a new job. So that’s had me busy and a lil different hours. Working 7am-3:30pm makes it tough to find some time. Especially when school gets out at 4. But I made it out caught a few dinks. And got this lil chunk on a choppo. I won’t lie my drive and focus has lacked some lately. I think it’s just the time of the year. I fished hard and life has gotten busy I’m ready for winter lol.
  25. I’m ready. Fall and winter can show up anytime now
