Favorite lure to throw

Featured Replies

What lure do you have the most fun throwing?

Doesn't have to be the lure that catches the most or biggest fish.

Me?

I just found it last night.

Evergreen Shower Blows.

It took me just one twitch to fall in love with it.

It's just fun to walk, listen to it twitch, and throw water.

I may have found true love fellas (and gals).    :)

Anyways, what you got?

Love throwing a spinnerbait but for the last 2 weeks the fish won't leave my Ned alone.

^This^! I love crankbaits.  They may not always be the MOST successful lures to use, but they almost always are successful. You can use them to cover almost any depth or water condition. You can work them fast, slow, steady, reel and pause........just about any type of retrieve. There are so many types that you can find a crankbait for any situation.

most fun?  Frogs hands down.  Not only do you get an awesome strike, you get to fight and wrestle the fish on the way through the weeds back into the boat.

The most fun for me has to be a walking bait. Doesn’t catch the most, doesn’t catch the biggest. But d**n if it isn’t fun walking the dog.

I love walking baits, they are some of my favourite baits, but these days it is big wakes. something about hearing them going <clack, clack, clack> on the way back, and knowing that any cast could be a monster. every cast has me on my mental tippy toes

Funny because I threw two new-to-me baits last night.

The Shower Blows and then a Clutch glide bait.

I’m going to love the glides as well, but last night the visibility was like 6” so not ideal. Wasn’t really ideal for topwater either but still caught a decent bass.

Favorite has gotta be a topwater frog in some T H I C K  cover. Second probably a walking bait, third goes to a whopper plopper. You know what, ALL topwaters are my favorite lures to throw. All of them!

Then ripping a bladed jig through some grass. ChatterchatterchatterchatterBEND....

Is and always has been a white 1/2oz double willow spinnerbait.  However, the Karashi is VERY quickly becoming a favorite of mine.  Just too much fun to be had.

I second the frog in the slop.  It's violent and entertaining.

Just wish it still worked

Whereas I love the sounds of surface lures like the Whopper Plopper and walking baits, my most fun lure would be a VMC 5/0 underspin because it's a heavy lure that I can throw into heavy cover. If I miss my 2' of water opening and hit a bush, I can always pop it free without much effort and because of that, I have the confidence to make the hardest casts and catch those big bass that claim the hardest spots.

Beaver, deep in the jungle.  Honorable mention goes to the chatter bait.

Whopper Plooper. It catches big fish also.
